COGP Tournament
This tournament is a member event of the Central Ohio Grand Prix. As are all of the tournaments, it is an independent event under the control of the Tournament Director and/or the individual local sponsoring organizations. These tournaments are operated to increase tennis participation in the Central Ohio area and for the enjoyment of all participants. The COGP is the local USTA umbrella sanctioning organization, with all responsibility and assumptions of all aspects of the tournament under the control of the Director, Staff and their Organization. These tournaments are frequently run as fundraisers for the local school tennis teams or team support groups to help acquire balls, nets, wind screens, uniforms and other necessities for the high school or middle school teams. The COGP provides sanctioning and online computer and communication services. All other aspects of the tournament, from fund collection to fund disbursement, plus balls, trophies, awards and all other aspects of the tournament are totally under the Control of the individual Tournament Director. Any or all questions, scheduling, special request or complaints will be handled handled by the Tournament Director. Thank you for your support and participation.

Junior Singles Divisions
Unless otherwise specifically stated, all COGP junior singles divisions of the USTA sanctioned tournaments require a USTA membership, which can be acquired online in 3 minutes at www.usta.com. Membership enables all the juniors to acquire a USTA Sectional and District ranking from the moment they win their first sanctioned tournament match. This will enable college coaches to evaluate the players, and assist the players in entering high level tournaments and provide those tournaments with seeding information.
|
Adult Divisions and All Doubles Divisions
Unless specifically stated, most of our adult, and all of our doubles divisions, are NOT sanctioned. This is due to the players perceptions and belief of the exorbitantly high cost of adult membership and fees charged to play in a tournament. Therefor, in order to keep costs down, adults and all doubles teams need to contact the Tournament Director via email to physically register for the adult, or doubles divisions, of any given tournament with adult division. For those wishing to acquire Sectional or District adult rankings, there are a few tournaments with sanctioned adult events, which require a USTA membership and extra fees.
