***** PLAYERS ***** CHECK YOUR MATCH TIMES ******
All players - please double check your match times for Wednesday, July 16, there is a slight gitch in the new USTA software that leaves out some consolation matches. Everything online in this report has been updated and correct. The online draws are always the official record, so make sure you have double checked when you are scheduled to play.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
This format for matches in this tournament is best of three sets, meaning whichever player(s) wins 2 sets, wins the match. This tournament will use a match tie break in place of a full third set. If players split sets, with each player or doubles team winning one set, a match tie break will be played in place of a full third set. A match tie break uses the procedures and rules as a set tie break, except the match winner will be the first side to reach 10 points, by a 2 point margin, rather than 7 points as in a set tie break.
|
DRAWS & RACKET STRINGING
Draws are completed and online. RACKET STRINGING - If you need rackets strung, there will be onsite stringing with Alan Leinwohl, master stringer, who has 30+ years of racket stringing experience. All transactions will be with Mr. Leinwohl concerning stringing, separate from the tournament.

RAIN FORECAST
Wednesday looks good. Please be on time for your matches. In tennis terms that means 15 minutes before your scheduled time. NOTE - Even if it looks like rain where you are, it may not be raining on the courts, so plan to report for your match on time. Call the tournament director cell phone, listed above, if there is bad weather - we will update the situation at the courts constantly, and put it on the message on the cell phone. If we can get to where there is Wi-Fi we will update it online also, but the courts are a long way from a building with computer access.

** FLUIDS ** TOWELS ** BAND-AIDS **
Summer competition can be very draining for any player. The USTA
recommends that each player bring - ONE GALLON OF FLUID (WATER OR SPORT
DRINK) FOR HYDRATION, PER MATCH - MINIMUM. Buy a gallon, or larger,
water jug and it will last a player the entire summer. Towels are
important, bring at least a couple of hand towels to wipe off during a
match. Please put a can of Water Proof Band-Aids in your tennis bag, in
the summer when a player is sweating, friction blisters are common, much
more so than in cooler times. You must provide these items yourself,
there are no supplies of anything on hand.

TOURNAMENT SANCTION & RANKINGS
This is a junior only tournament, no adult divisions. The tournament is sanctioned by the USTA so all participants must be USTA members. Each match that is played will earn each player ranking points, which can be viewed on the USTA ranking website. This is what college coaches look at when deciding who to observe for potential college recruiting.
