*** RAIN SCHEDULE *** TOURNEY FORMAT ***
If there is rain - no problem, we will play inside. Same match schedule, just indoors, so please be on time. BACKDRAW / CONSOLATION MATCHES - we will use a match tie break in place of a full third set.
The tournament will be held at Elysium Tennis Club, which is located in Dublin, Ohio. Seen on the map, just outside of Columbus. We are 200 yards over the county line so we have a Plain City mailing address. We are only 1.5 miles from the Jack Nicklaus Muirfield Village Golf Club where the Memorial Golf Tournament is held, so there are over 5,000 hotel rooms in close 5 mile vicinity.
USTA REQUIREMENTS and TOURNAMENT FORMAT
All players must be current USTA members in good standing to participate, and receive prize money, if that lucky. USTA memberships may be renewed or purchased online at www.usta.com. The tournament will be held over 2 days, Saturday and Sunday, at Elysium Tennis Club. The format will be FMLC (First Match Losers Consolation) so everyone will play at least 2 matches.
We require 4 teams in each age group to hold that age group and pay prize money in that division. Groups with less than 4 teams may be combined with another division to ensure enough teams for competition.
All participants will receive a tournament shirt, hat or other gift for being a part of the tournament. We will also have a food event on Saturday afternoon for all participants. Spectators may indulge also for a nominal fee to cover the food cost.
This is a prize money tournament, in lieu of trophies. Prize money will be awarded by Bernie Master at the completion of the final in each age division on Sunday.
NO RAIN POSTPONEMENTS
We will have no rain delays to speak of. If there is inclement weather, we will play inside. Please be on time for your match, the only slight delays will be walking inside and reassigning the courts.
