Match Time Delay
3:20 p.m. Riverview - 2 hour total delay in match times

10:30 a.m. - please consider that courts have dried earlier than expected at some sites and use the following delay times. Diamond Lakes - 2 1/2 hour total delay in match times. Grovetown H.S - 1 hour total delay (most courts are now playable) Fleming Tennis Center - 1 hour total delay (most courts are playable) Newman Tennis Center -- 1 hour total delay in match times (9:30 matches are now going on and most courts are playable) Riverview - 2 1/2 hour total delay in match times. Petersburg - 2 hour total delay in match times.

Sunday Match Changes
All matches were subject to change. The scoring format for 12s-18s will be short sets starting at 2-2 with regular scoring with a 10-point match tie-break in lieu of a third set. This will allow the play of 3 rounds in the main draw and 2 rounds in the consolation. Do not assume your match is scheduled at the same site as before; please verify your match time and location. The G14 White draw and the B16 Red draw are no longer split between sites.

Weather Updates
Final note: Thank you for your patience today. It required much more time to revise the draws and schedule than was anticipated.
2 p.m. Since we likely have another hour of rain, we will not play any matches today. If you plan to withdraw, please email the tournament director by 4 p.m. The schedule for Sunday's matches will be posted by 5 p.m., pending our notification on scoring method. Please check the draw sheets and/or future match report after 5 p.m. for new match times.
12 p.m. The rain delay is extended to a total 7 hour delay in match times with a final determination of play today at 2 p.m.
8 a.m. NOAA forecast is for 100% probability for rain through 1 p.m. Therefore we will have a 6 hour rain delay in match times. The next weather update will be at 12 noon.
6 a.m. Saturday: current conditions in Augusta - fog and light mist. we will start with a 3 hour rain delay in match times. Officials do not need to be at their sites until further notice. The next weather update will be at 8:00 a.m.
Players will need to look at this topic for future weather information. As necessary, we will post time of the update and the time of the next expected update.
First update will be at 6am Sat. Morning.

Tournament Check In
Early Tournament Check in will be Friday evening, from 5-8pm, at a Charles Evans Community Center, 1866 Highland Ave. Augusta, GA 30904. Saturday check in will only be at Newman Tennis Center. If you are checking in on Saturday, you must come to NTC prior to going to your playing site. Plan on checking in at least 1 hour prior to your first match time. Saturday Check in will start at 7am.

First Match Times and Draws Published
First Match Times will be published by 7pm Thursday and Draws will be published at Noon on Friday. This time has been changed due to learning how to use the new TDM system.

Waterfall System for Splitting Competitors
The players will be ordered using current standings and players from the younger age group that met the selection requirements added to the player list. The 32 players will be split as follows:
Red 1, 4,5, 8,9, 12,13, 16,17,20,21,24,25,28,29,32
Blue 2,3 6,7, 10,11,14,15,18,19,22,23,26,27,30,31
Seeding will be made and then the players will be split. Players from the lower age group that were selected and meet the seeding criteria will be seeded according to the STA directions.

Withdrawing and Refunds from the Tournament
Refunds: To receive a refund for the tournament you must withdraw prior to Noon on Friday Jan. 3rd. The draw will be made at Noon on Wed. January 8th at Newman Tennis Center.
If you have entered and wish to withdraw prior to the entry deadline please go to the tournament web page and click on Edit Registration. You will need your confirmation number that you received in your confirmation e-mail to complete the process.

We will be using Pro Penn Extra Duty tennis balls for this tournament.

No Doubles in this Tournament
Because of the length of the day and weather issues we will not include Doubles in this tournament.

Withdrawing from a match or Tournament/Refund Policy (Weather)
A player shall not enter a tournament and then withdraw when the player discovers that tough opponents have also entered. A player may withdraw from a match or tournament only because of injury, illness, or personal emergency. A player who cannot play a match shall notify the Referee at once so that the opponent may be saved a trip. A player who withdraws from a tournament is not entitled to the return of the entry fee unless the player withdrew prior to the published refund deadline date. In the event of inclement weather and you do not play any matches in this tournament you are entitled to a partial refund based on the fixed tournament expenses. Please understand that tournaments have fixed costs which include: Trophies, T-shirts, Balls, USTA Officials, and many other costs that we must cover. The tennis link portion of your entry fee is non-refundable in accordance with USTA policy. If you do complete a match there is no refund/credit. Thank you for your understanding.

Dependent Draws
B & G 12-18 Events: Dependent Draws are for players who lose in first round of the consolation, and play one round unless there is a bye.
Boys and Girls 10s: Since there was not a first round consolation match in either event, their dependent draw will be for players who lose in the second round of the consolation (Consolation Quarterfinal Round) and they will play one round unless there is a bye.

Weather and First Match Times
Be sure to dress warmly as the high will be in the mid 50's on Saturday and Sunday. We will be starting first matches at all sites at 8:30 AM.

Processing entries
Sorry for the delay in publishing entries. There have been some adjustments to the tournament. 1. the entry fee is now $50.00 tennis link fee and we will be accepting late entries if the player is not seedable.

Selection Process
Selections will be published by 4pm January 3rd. Because this is a Level 3 STA Event the following Selection Process is being used: Top 32 players applying from the usta/southern latest standings list. For Boys and Girls 12-18: 28 players from this age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group who are eligible from the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 40 of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 28, will be selected. The names of the player who have been selected will appear as competitors. Alternates are listed in the report section. Do not refer to the alternates on the far left side of the web page after competitors have been listed. (that list is not updated).
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. they would be removed from the other age division. #2. players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. They would be removed from the alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

Withdrawing to Enter another Tournament
If you are planning on entering another tournament you MUST withdraw (by e-mail) from this tournament before you enter another tournament. If you are on the alternate list of a tournament you are considered in that tournament until you offiically withdraw.

GEORGIA LEVEL 2 TOURNAMENT. SOUTHERN LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENT.
Deadline - 11:59 pm. 32 players will be selected for each event and
then be split into two Draws of 16 players using the Waterfall
System for selection , with a Full Feed in Consolation through the
Quarters and 3/4 playoff. In Compliance with the current Georgia
Regulations: All draws (12-18) will play the best two out of three
tie-break sets with a Match tie break in lieu of the third set. The
Finals of the Consolation will not be scheduled and will not be
played. Boys and Girls 10's will play on the 60 foot court using
Orange Low Compression Balls and 25" racquest. Scoring: will be the
best of three short sets,with regular Scoring, using a set (7pt)
tie break at 4 all, with a set (7pt) tie break in lieu of the third
set. In the event of inclement weather, match format is subject to
change. Players may sign up for 2 events (for those desiring to
play up) but you will only play in one event. The STA will make
those selections as well. We will have roving unpires at all sites.
Early check-in and tournament dinner will be friday jan. 10th from
5-8 pm at Wood Park, (see notes for directions). We encourage you
to use the USTA's on-line registration. CHAMPIONSHIP - Open to all
players regardless of ranking.

LATE ENTRANTS - USTA Georgia will allow late entrants to be accepted into all USTA GA tournaments, Levels 1-5, in the event that the draw is not full, provided that such late entrants do not affect the seeding and further provided that late entrants do not prevent timely entrants to be accepted into the draw under any circumstances. Accepting late entrants is at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. Seeds must be posted by 12 noon following close of registration. Once draws are posted, the tournament is closed and can no longer accept late entries.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament. If you enter this tournament and are not eligible, any refund is as the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only USTA members can register online if available.
