PLAYER CHECK IN SATURDAY
Player registration will all be at the MAIN SITE... Columbus North High School. Please check in at least 30 minutes prior to your first round match. You will receive your PLAYER MATCH CARD, t-shirt, player packet, sponsor coupons, and general information. Registration will start by 7:15 am Saturday.

LEVEL 2 MIDWEST USTA POINTS PER ROUND and LEVEL 4 NATIONAL
POINTS PER ROUND
TOURNAMENT WILL BE A 128 DRAW SINGLES AND INCLUDE A FEED-IN
CONSOLATION and a 64 DRAW DOUBLES
The Main Draw will play 2/3 full sets, FIC will play a Match
Tiebreak (Super Tiebreak) in lieu of the third set and Doubles with
play an 8 game Pro-Set that is single elimination. Both the Main
Draw of Singles and of Doubles will finish each of the draws. The
FIC Consolation Singles does not finish and will stop at the
Semi-Finals due to the tournament lasting only four days.
DOUBLES DEADLINE/INFORMATION
Doubles entries close, Thursday, July 17 at 6:00pm (EST). Please
try to have BOTH players register online before the sign up
deadline. If you did not sign up with your partner online and
before the entry deadline has passed then please email me
(kchammel@gmail.com) your name and doubles partners name. I will
need a confirmation email from your partner also. If you are
looking for a doubles partner please email me and I will add your
name to the looking for a partner list before the doubles entry
deadline has passed
PLAYER SELECTION AND NUMBERED ALTERNATE LIST WILL BE POSTED BY
THE MONDAY AFTER THE FRIDAY DEADLINE BY 6PM
SITE INFORMATION
We will be using 3-4 locations for tournament play. They are as
follows…
MAIN SITE is Columbus North High School (CN) @ 1400 25th Street,
47201 #8 courts,
Donner Park (DP) @ 22nd & Lafayette, 47201 #4 courts ,
Columbus East High School (CE) @ 230 South Marr Road @ Indiana Ave,
47201 #6 courts ,
Hamilton Lincoln Park (LP) @ 2501 Lincoln Park Drive, 47201 #4
courts.
Tipton Lakes Athletic Club (TLAC), 4000 Goeller Blvd, 47201 and all
playing sites are approx. 10 minutes or less apart. All playing
sites are located close to downtown area, Malls, Outlet Malls,
restaurants, movies, parks, and misc.
USTA/MIDWEST SECTION SEEDING & SELECTION CRITERIA
All USTA/Midwest Sectional and Designated Tournaments will adhere
to the following Seeding and Selection Criteria as set by the
USTA/Midwest Section Junior Competition Committee. Players will be
selected based on the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing
List at the time of the tournament entry deadline. Players will be
selected by the following (1)- 26 players from the top 100 of the
most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in next lower
division (except in the boys and girls 12s divisions where 13
players will be selected (2)- 102 players from the most current
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the current age division of
the event (except in the boys and girls 12s division where 115
players will be accepted) Remaining vacancies and/or alternates
will be selected from the USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the
division of the event. Alternates will be numbered with this
Midwest Standings List. Seeding will be done based on the
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List the following week.

TOURNAMENT HOTEL
Our tournament HOST HOTELS are HILTON GARDEN INN @ 812-526-8600 ,
HAMPTON INN @ 812-526-5100 , COMFORT INN @ 812-526-9899 , and
HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS @ 812-526-4919. Use the code "Midwest Open
Tennis" for room discounts. All 4 hotels are right off I-65 exit
76B and less than 10 minutes away from downtown main playing sites.
There is lots of shopping and restaurants off this exit and easy
access to other areas of interest in Columbus. THANK YOU for using

PRACTICE/WARM-UP COURTS
Practice courts will be available at Harrison Ridge Park @ Tipton
Lakes Blvd / Coles Dr., 47201, Brown County High School @ 235 South
School House Lane, Nashville, 47448, and any site we do not use.
There are courts available indoors at TLAC @ 4000 Goeller Blvd,
47201 for a $10.00 per hour fee. From Interstate 65, turn on 46
West at the Columbus Exit and go to the first stoplight. TLAC club
is located on the left corner. We are about 1 hour North of
Louisville, KY and 45 min South of Indianapolis.
FIRST ROUND REPORT TIME INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE
WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT BEGINS BY 6PM
Come back to this page on and click on the blue "Future Match Info
Report" to find out your first match time as well as your Win/Loss
time (W/L). Please be careful when reading this. The W/L times are
in parentheses. Players from the same District will not play each
other first round unless an alternate fills a spot or more than
half the draw is from the same District.
RECOVERY RULE
Recovery Rule: Extended length of rest between singles matches in
Junior, Adult, Senior, NTRP and Wheelchair Divisions. In all
singles matches in Junior, Adult, Senior, NTRP, and Wheelchair
Divisions in which the match format is two out of three standard
tiebreak sets or more, a rest period of two hours shall be offered
by the Referee before the player's next singles match. This Rule
does not apply to short set matches and matches that play a
tiebreak in lieu of a final third set, nor to any match played
indoors where the duration of the match is less than 120
minutes.
SCORING
All Main Draw Singles will be playing 2/3 full sets, FIC will play
a Matchtiebreak (Supertiebreak) in lieu of the third set and
Doubles an 8 game Pro-Set with advantage scoring on all matches. A
player will be entitled to a three minute break after splitting
sets and before playing the Matchtiebreak in singles and doubles
where coaching is allowed.
TROPHIES
The trophies that will be distributed are as follows: Champion,
Finalist, Third & Fourth Place for Main Draw Singles and
Doubles, four Semi-Finalist FIC & Midwest Sportsmanship
Winner.
SEEDED PLAYER WITHDRAWS AFTER START TIMES ARE POSTED
The Tournament Director is not required to re-seed his draw if a
withdraw occurs after Friday at 12 noon before the tournament
begins. The Alternate may be inserted on the draw line where the
seed withdrew and no match times are affected for the remaining
players. If the Tournament Director would like to re-seed the draw
and change start times after the Friday, 12 noon deadline, he may.
It is not required.
ORDER OF PLAY
SATURDAY: Play begins at 8am. Main Draw will play Rd of 128
and Rd of 64 singles followed by the Qualifying Rd of 64 FIC .
Doubles to follow.
SUNDAY: Play begins at 8am. Main Draw will play Rd of 32 and
Rd of 16. FIC will play the Rd of 64 FIC, Qualifying Rd of 32 and
Rd of 32. Doubles to follow.
MONDAY: Play begins at 8am. Main Draw will play Quarters and
Semi-Finals. FIC will play the Qualifying Rd of 16 FIC and Rd of 16
FIC. Doubles to follow
TUESDAY: Play begins at 8am. Main Draw will play the Finals
or 3/4 Playoff. FIC will play Qualifying Quarters and Quarters. FIC
stops at the Semi- Finals. Doubles to follow.
DRAWS WILL BE POSTED ON THE FRIDAY BEFORE THE EVENT BEGINS BY
9PM.
NO REFUNDS AFTER PLAYER SELECTION IS COMPLETE
USTA/MIDWEST SECTIONS SUSPENSION POINT SYSTEM AND
SIGNING UP FOR TWO TOURNAMENTS
Signing up for two events: All players will be given five (5)
suspension points for entering two or more tournaments that take
place at the same time, in whole or in part, for Midwest Elevated
Events OR if signing up for a Level 5 Local District Event, unless
you have emailed both Tournament Directors for permission to do so.
This applies to all players who signed up for the MW Elevated
tournament(s) including alternates and is a general USTA rule for
all events.
WE CANNOT CONTACT YOU UNLESS YOU PROVIDE US YOUR CELL NUMBERS
AND YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.
If you don't provide an email address and/or cell number(s) when
you register for this tournament, we will be unable to notify you
about any possible changes in the tournament.
USTA/MIDWEST SECTION DOMICILE RULES:
The USTA/Midwest Section Closed Junior Championships, the district
qualifiers, the USTA/Midwest Section Designated Tournaments and
USTA/Midwest Section Junior Davis & Wightman Cup events are
open to citizens of the U.S., permanent resident aliens in
possession of a valid alien registration card, individuals who are
applicants for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status and
who can present a USCIS receipt for a pending unadjudicated form
I-485, aliens who have resided continuously in the US for more than
one year and who are members of families of persons in the
diplomatic or consular corps and aliens who have been granted
Refugee Status, Asylee Status or Temporary Protected Status.
DRESS CODE
Acceptable tennis attire and tennis shoes.
