IMPORTANT TOURNAMENT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ!!!
MATCHES START FRIDAY, JULY 25TH AT 12 NOON. Please be prepared to play Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the largest draw size in the MCTC history. If you have entered in two events be prepared to play 3-4 matches in a day. Scheduling requests cannot be accommodated due to the size of the draws and limited number of days. You need to play according to our schedule. Partnership changes have to be approved by the tournament chair or director. Due to the potential in conflicting times, any new partner substitution cannot be entered in an existing event. CHECK-IN ON TIME - players could be defaulted or point penalized if they are late to check-in. BE PREPARED TO PLAY WHEN YOU CHECK-IN (go to the restroom prior to checking in) AND DO NOT LEAVE THE CHECK-IN AREA. Once checked in, we will call players up to three times to report in and go out to the court. If you do not respond a defaulted can be issued. Match scoring is the best of three sets with a match tiebreak (10) played in lieu of a third set. The first two sets players will use a set tiebreak (7). Warm-up is 5 minutes. When you finish your match, come back to the tournament desk ASAP to report the scores. We need courts for following matches to go out on schedule. NOTE - PALISADES TENNIS CLUB HAS A COLLARED SHIRT DRESS CODE FOR MALE PLAYERS. We appreciate your help and consideration with the above.

SCHEDULING CONFLICTS & DAYS OF PLAY
Sorry, but we do not take requests regarding scheduling times. ALL PLAYERS ENTERING THIS TOURNAMENT MUST PLAY ACCORDING TO OUR SCHEDULE AND NEED TO LEAVE ALL THREE DAYS FREE (FROM 12 NOON ON FRIDAY TO THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY). The scheduling of matches and dates played is predicated on the number of players in the event, and until entries close we cannot determine when matches will be held (read below for an estimate). Therefore, we do not accept requests for time problems. The largest draws will most likely start first with some draws having the potential of two matches played in one day (draws with more than 16 players or teams). Below is a typical scheduling planner based on the number of participants in their event: 17-32 players - Number of rounds = 5 matches with the 1st & 2nd rounds held on July 25 (draws of this size will have two rounds of play on Friday with matches starting early). With 9-16 players - Number of rounds = 4 matches total with the 1st round being held on July 25 and possibly the second round as well. Divisions with 5-8 players – Number of rounds = 3 matches with the 1st round held on July 25 or 26. Divisions with 3-4 players the Number of rounds = 2 matches with the Semifinals held on Saturday, July 26. All Finals will be held on Sunday, July 27 (barring rain)

We appreciate your interest in the Michael Chang Tennis Classic.

NO SPLIT ENTRIES
Players are limited to two events in the SAME DIVISION (you cannot play in different divisions, i.e. 4.5 singles and 4.0 doubles). The tournament committee will move players into the higher level division for both events should you register by "spliting divisions".
|
READ INFOMATION BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING FOR TOURNAMENT - NO SPLIT ENTRY FEES OR SPLITTING DIVISIONS
This tournament does not allow players to split their doubles entry fee (only pay for 1/2 of fee) or split divisions (play in different NTRP events). Please make sure that you pay for the FULL doubles fees and enter properly (read the registration info below). Players will be sent an email and will need to withdraw and re-enter properly if they enter in two different divsions. Once entries close, players that have not paid properly or split divisions will be dropped from the draws or charged a $15.00 late fee.
