IMPORTANT CHECK-IN INFORMATION:
Check in 30 minutes before the start time of each match at the site you are scheduled to play at. All Singles Finals and Playoffs will be at Beverly Golf & Tennis.

RAIN & HEAT PLAN:
In the event the referee suspends play due to rain players will then be assigned to the indoor courts at Bass River Tennis Club if necessary. There will be no court fee charges to players for any matches played indoors. If you are not on site call the tournament director phone # .
In the event that the Heat Index (temperature and humidity combined) reaches 100 degrees the referee MAY instruct that a 10 point match tie break be used in lieu of the third set. If the Heat Index reaches 103 degrees, the referee may suspend play anytime between noon and 5PM. If play is suspended the referee MAY allow matches in progress and in the second set, to complete the match. (Based on National Weather Service information.)

Bass River Tennis Club - 31 Tozer Road, Beverly, MA. From Boston area, heading north. Take 128 North to exit 19 (Sohier Rd.). Go straight off the exit for ½ mile. Turn right on Tozer Rd. Club is ¼ mile on left.
From Gloucester area and points north. 128 South to exit 20 (1A towards Hamilton). Right off exit, through first set of lights. North Beverly Plaza will be on your right. At next set of lights, turn right onto Tozer Rd. Bass River is ½ mile on the right.

All players who participate will receive an official 2013 New England Jr. Clay Court Championships T-shirt. Trophies will be awarded to Singles & Doubles Winners and Finalists respectively.

DOUBLES:
A maximum of 16 teams in each division will be selected and draws filled as follows: Selection into all doubles tournaments is based on current doubles standing lists, in ascending order and not on a first-come, first-served basis. Doubles tournament registrants who identify partners will have priority for selection provided that each player registers online and provides credit card information. Tournament director will randomly match selected doubles players who do not identify a partner.
If you want to play doubles you must register for doubles by the entry deadline date even if you do not have a partner. You may contact the tournament director up to July 7th to name your partner. After this date players who registered without naming a partner will be paired up with a partner by the tournament committee. Any player who withdraws from doubles after the draw has been made for reasons other than illness, injury or personal emergency will receive three (5) suspension points.

MATCH SCHEDULE:
DOUBLES: ALL age divisions will play up to three (3) rounds of doubles on Saturday July 13th. Doubles finals for some age groups will be after singles on Sunday July 14th. (All doubles matches are eight (8) game pro-sets.
SINGLES: All age divisions may play first round singles starting on Sunday July 14th. Singles finals on Tuesday July 16th.

DRAW SIZE & MATCH PLAY FORMAT:
Singles maximum of 32 players, Doubles maximum of 16 teams.
There will be playoffs in singles for quarter-final and semi-final losers for 3rd-8th place. Singles matches will be best two out of three sets. The set tiebreak (first to 7 points by 2 points) will be used in all sets reaching six games all. Doubles will be 8-game pro sets with a set tiebreak at eight games all. In extreme heat/humidity/rain conditions singles matches may be required to use a match tiebreak (first to 10 points by 2 points) in lieu of a third set. Seeding is based on, but not limited to, the most current standing list available.Tournament is open to eligible New England residents only.

HERB SCHACHTER
Herb Schachter passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in August 2008. USTA New England honored Herb with a Special Recognition award. The plaque presented to his family is inscribed as follows: "For more than 15 years, Herb Schachter had an unparalleled passion and dedication for providing USTA junior tournament opportunities at the Nashua Swim and Tennis Club. He shared his time and invested his energy in honest, fair and consistent service with a generous, humorous and caring spirit. Herb always valued sportsmanship and character over results and rankings. Many families learned valuable life lessons in their encounters with him. Herb's legacy lives on in the countless young men, women and their families that he touched."

RULES:
The tournament is governed by USTA Sanctioned Tournament Rules and USTA New England Regulations. USTA officials will be on site. The Point Penalty System will be in effect. Unsportsmanlike conduct of players, parents or coaches, on, or off, the court, will not be tolerated and may lead to default of the player(s) involved.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
