SELECTION PROCESS FOR LIMITED DRAWS
We will follow NCTA rules in selecting the players who make each draw. This decision will be solely based on current standings. All players who did not make the draw are considered alternates. If we have a withdrawal, we will call players on the alternate list. Players should consider this when entering draws outside of their age range. Players that are not selected for the draw will not have their credit cards charged.

VOUCHERS FOR FREE ENTRIES FOR 1ST TIME HIGH SCHOOL & JTT PLAYERS
The North Carolina Tennis Association is again providing tournament vouchers for current High School and Jr. Team Tennis players in North Carolina. The NCTA Junior Competition Committee and Board of Directors want to provide an incentive for those players in North Carolina to get involved in USTA tournament competition. The NCTA will pay the entry fee for the first tournament a player enters to introduce them to the fun and camaraderie of tournament tennis. To be eligible, a player must not have played in any sanctioned tournament in the past. Players may use these vouchers in any sanctioned junior FUTURES (L5), L4 (NEW this year) or Adult NTRP (provided they allow junior entries) tournament held in North Carolina this year. Futures tournaments are for less experienced competitive players and will provide good competition for new tournament players. Level 4 tournaments offer more experienced competitive play. NTRP Tournaments provide play against adult players of the same level. Vouchers are good for singles OR doubles. In order to use the vouchers, players must join the USTA before playing in a tournament. The cost for a one-year junior membership is $20.00. The membership will allow players to play in tournaments for a year and also includes a one-year subion to Tennis magazine, which they will receive once a month. Players can join the USTA online at www.usta.com or by calling 1-800-990-USTA (8782). The purpose of this program is to promote an interest in tennis in younger players in North Carolina. As you know, tennis is the one sport that you can continue playing throughout a lifetime. This will not only help you to increase your skills, but will also sharpen your competitiveness on the court. View North Carolina’s Junior tournaments (Look for the word Futures in the tournament title or L5, L4 after the title) High School Coaches should contact Jane (jane@nctennis.com) and Jr. Team Tennis players should contact Caroline (caroline@nctennis.com) for free entry fee vouchers. The players should enter the tournament online and and then present the voucher to the Tournament Director when they check in at the tournament for their first match. The Tournament Director will send the voucher to the NCTA office for player reimbursement.

SEEDING
This tournament’s seeding will be done in accordance with USTA Regulations. They will be compiled and examined by the Head Referee, Tournament Director, and members of the Tournament Committee.
Factors to consider in seeding (taken from “Friend at Court”)
Seedings merely represent the Committee’s subjective ratings of the various players’ chances of winning the tournament. These ratings may not be based on whim, caprice, or hunches, but instead shall be justified by a reasonable amount of factual evidence, including, but not limited to, rankings, current records, types of surface, and particularly head to head encounters. Two outstanding doubles players playing together for the first time should be considered for a place on the seeded list.
