Bluegrass Spring Junior Open (TRN National Showcase Series)

Thanks to everyone for a GREAT tournament ! We had great weather, great players, and great parents ! Thanks for Julie and Doug from Tennis Recruiting.net for making these tournaments possible and we truly believe the "open format" of tournament play and their new National Player Rankings is primed for huge growth. Thanks also to Julie and Danny from HIGH-TECH TENNIS for providing their great video services to our tournaments. We will have another Showcase Series in the Fall so come back then !!

Practice courts are available all day Friday at The Top Gun Academy. There are 13 outdoor hard courts and just first come, first served. Just walk on in and use a court.

Practice courts DURING the tournament.... we will be using all the courts at Top Gun for the tournament. For practice courts please use Tom Sawyer State Park (about 7 minutes from Top Gun and directly across from host hotel). This is a public park with 12 outdoor hard courts. Just walk on in and use a court. The address for Tom Sawyer Park is 3000 Freys Hill Rd Louisville, KY 40241.

Draws are now posted. All play will be outdoors at The Top Gun Tennis Academy. Directions are below. Please check in at least 15 minutes prior to your starting time.

All matches will be played outdoors unless weather forces us indoors.

The Top Gun Academy is located off the Gene Snyder Xway (I-265) off the Old Henry Exit. You will see the courts to your right off Old Henry Road and turn on Elite Drive. The address above does not work for Mapquest or most GPS systems. If using them, please use this address 12904 Old Henry Road. This will take you across the street where you will see the courts on your right.

A FREE player cookout lunch will be provided on Saturday from 11:00am-2:00pm by Ladyfingers Catering adjacent to the Top Gun Academy. All players will be given a card at the tournament desk during check in for their lunch. Family members, coaches, and friends will also be able to purchase burgers, dogs, BBQ, and chicken from Ladyfingers during the day.....THEIR FOOD IS EXCELLENT !!

Seedings were done based on current USTA National standings. If there were not enough players currently in the National standings for a particular age group, we used current Sectional standings for that age group and cross compared the sections to determine the highest seeded players.

The Bluegrass Spring Junior Open is open to all players regardless of section. There is no draw quota and all applicants will be selected.

Singles matches are third set match tiebreaker in Main Draw and Consolation. Doubles is an 8 game pro set.

Singles will be a full feed in consolation through the quarterfinals with a 3/4 playoff.

The Bluegrass Spring Junior Open is a proud to be a part of the Tennis Recruiting.net National Showcase Series. Tournaments in the National Showcase Series are USTA sanctioned junior tournaments open to players from all sections. These tournaments are designed to give a broad range of players the chance to compete outside their districts and sections - and these tournaments will count towards Tennis Recruiting rankings !! Players who compete in these tournaments and win at least one match will become NATIONAL PLAYERS for their Tennis Recruiting rankings. Doubles partners must be listed together by Thursday April 4th at 6:00pm. If you are in need of a partner, we can help put you in contact with someone. Email us at cmather@springhurst.com if you would like to play doubles but need a partner. We cant make any guarantees but we can try to match people up. If you are not partnered by Thursday at 6:00pm, we cannot help you after that point. Thanks.
