Update as of 8:00am, July 27th
If it should be raining in the morning, we do have indoor courts. At this point, i am uncertain as to how many we will have. We will also be using the indoor courts at UK and LTC. I will update the website as soon as I have any information, so please do not call my cell phone unless it is absolutely necessary as I will be working with LTC to obtain as many courts as possible. If you have an 8am match and it is raining when you get to Lexington, please report to UK for further instructions or check the website.

Ryan Holder
Ryan Holder was a remarkable 16 year old young man from Lexington who died in a tragic automobile accident. Ryan began playing tennis at the relatively late age of 12 years old and progressed rapidly to the top of his age group. His accomplishments include: Junior Davis Cup, National Zonal Tennis Team, High School Regional Singles Champion and the Kentucky High School All-State Tennis Team. Ryan's zeal for competition, his enduring smile and his many friends remain a part of his legacy. We would like to thank Ryan's parents, Karen and Richard, for their continued support and involvement with this tournament. We would also like to thank Coaches Dennis and Brenda Emery for their continued involvement and helping make The Holder a sucess year after year. The Lexington Christian Academy Boys and Girls Tennis Program is honored to host the annual Ryan C. Holder Memorial State Closed Junior Tennis Tournament.

10 & Under Divisions—Singles & Do
Beginning January 1, 2011, ALL 10 & Under tournament play in Kentucky (and Southern Section) will use the QuickStart Tennis Play Format. The following are mandatory parameters for all play in 10 & Under tournaments:
- Racket—up to 25 inches in length
- Ball—Orange Low Compression Ball
- Court—60’*21’ for singles, 60’*27’ for doubles
- Scoring—Singles—2 short sets to 4 games. At 4-4, a Set Tiebreak (first to 7, win by 2) is played. In lieu of a 3rd set, a Set Tiebreak (first to 7, win by 2) is played to determine the winner of the match. Doubles—1 set to 6 games. If the score reaches 6-6, a Set Tiebreak is played (first to 7, win by 2)
All 10s tournaments, including the Creason and Southern Closed, will use the parameters listed above. Players should be able to keep score, call their lines, and, ultimately, complete the match without a permanent court monitor.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
