Boys & Girls Sportsmanship Awards
A BIG Congratulations goes out to Matt Townsend of the Boys 18's and to Mary Jane McCaghren of the girls 18's divisions for earning our Sportsmanship Awards. The Tournament Committee and Referees voted and offer our congratulations to both of these fine athletes for being tremendous Role Models for our younger players. Being a role model both on court and off are important for our sport. While we had a tremendous tournament and MANY players that were also tremendous sports and a tribute to our sport, we are recognizing these two athletes. Thank you to ALL who take pride in being good sports and good people both on and off the court. Knowing how to treat others is essential to success in life. We enjoyed seeing all of you this weekend, representing 6 states here in Paducah, Kentucky and hope to see you back next year. Thanks again, your tournament committee. :)

Love that Art Auction
A Must Event! The 5th Love That Art! Auction will be held
THIS Saturday night, September 14, 2013, from 6 to 10 PM at the home of Mike and Caroline Cappock,
3690 Marlborough Way. The triennial event, which supports both the Yeiser Art
Center and the Chad Gamble Tennis Foundation, features a live auction of dozens
of pieces from Paducah and non-Paducah artists alike. Artists represented
include Paul Aho, Elise Beattie, Jane Bright, Bill Ford, Tim Jaeger, Jimmy
Nichols, Bill Renzulli, and Mary Yeiser to name just a few! Robert Alexander
will serve as auctioneer.
Auction chair Jane Gamble, who has been involved with the event since the first
Love That Art! Auction, said, "In 2000, Jan Crawford and I chaired the
campaign to build courts at Tilghman. In a strange ‘wedding’ of art and sport,
we planned an art auction of Paducah artists and artisans. The auction was so
successful and so profitable that we decided to repeat the event every three
years. The Love that Art! auction has become a much anticipated Paducah
fundraiser."
The proceeds of the auction will be split this year with 75% to the Yeiser Art
Center and 25% to the Chad Gamble Tennis Foundation.
In addition to the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind art, the ticket price
includes dinner provided by local caterers and accompanied by your choice of
beer or wine.
Tickets are $15 per person or tables with seating for eight can be purchased
for $250. Tables include a personal waiter for the evening. Individual tickets
and tables can be purchased at the Yeiser Art Center or by calling
270-442-2453.
Don’t miss a wonderful opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind event
supporting two fantastic local charities!
