OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT HOTEL
The Greensboro-High Point Marriott Airport is the Official Tournament Hotel for the 2013 Greensboro March Madness Junior Championships. The hotel is offering a special rate of $89.00 per night for rooms on Friday and Saturday nights. LIMITED DRAWS AND SELECTION PROCESS
LIMITED DRAWS:
-->All divisions are limited to 32 players each.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Because this is a Southern Level 3 event, the following Selection Process is being used:
-->Top 32 players applying from the latest USTA Southern Standings list.
-->Boys and Girls 12s-18s divisions: 28 players from this age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group who are eligible from the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 40 of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 28, will be selected.
-->The names of the players who have been selected will appear as competitors. Alternates are listed in the report section.
Selections and Alternate Lists were formed using the Southern Standings List which was released on March 4.

WATERFALL SYSTEM FOR SPLITTING COMPETITORS
-->The players will be ordered using the most current Southern standings, with players from the younger age group that met the seeding requirements included in the player list.
-->The 32 players will be split as follows:
RED DRAW: 1,4,5,8,9,12,13,16,17,20,21,24,25,28,29,32
BLUE DRAW: 2,3,6,7,10,11,14,15,18,19,22,23,26,27,30,31
-->Seeding will be made after the players have been split.
-->Players from the lower age group that were selected and meet the seeding criteria will be seeded according to the STA directions.

INDEPENDENT DRAWS
-->There will be an Independent Consolation Draw for players who lose in the First Round of the Consolation, and they will play one more round unless there is a bye.

GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY
Selection Process:
-->Players are allowed to enter two age divisions in Southern L3 tournaments, within these guidelines:
-->#1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected in the older age division. They will be removed from the other age division.
-->#2. Players not selected to either division will remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the alternates list. They will be removed from the Alternates list in the other division.
-->#3. Players selected to one age division will be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected.
-->#4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

FORMAT AND SCORING
-->The format is Full Feed-In Consolation (through Quarterfinals):
-->12s - 18s divisions: All Main Draw AND Consolation matches play a 10-point tiebreaker instead of a a 3rd set.
-->Boys/Girls 10s: The 10s divisions for all tournaments will play on a 60' court using ORANGE compression balls. Racquets cannot be longer than 25". Matches are best-of-three 4 game sets (win by 2, TB at 4-games-all), Advantage scoring, with a 7-point match tiebreaker instead of a full 3rd set.

PLAYER’S RESPONSIBILITY
-->It is the PLAYER'S responsibility to know their next match time and show up in a timely manner.
-->Check website often for updated match times.
-->PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO ITS SCHEDULED START TIME.
-->ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR LATENESS.
-->This tournament has a lot of matches to be played, and there will be no exceptions for lateness (i.e. traffic, etc.).

PARENT AND MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS
-->The Parent Form and Medical Release is required by USTA/NC prior to playing matches.
-->Parent or guardian must sign. Bring signed form with you to registration.

WITHDRAWALS
-->If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so online.
-->Click on "Edit Registration," then "Withdraw." You will need your original confirmation number.
-->All withdrawals after entries close must be sent BOTH in writing by email (to the Tournament Director's address above) and by phone to the tournament site.
-->Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

IMPORTANT JUNIOR SUSPENSION NOTES
Please note the rules below pertain to ALL sanctioned North Carolina and Southern tournaments.
11. “A player shall not enter two tournaments at the same time. When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments is scheduled to overlap unless each tournament committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing.”
12. “Player shall not enter a tournament intending to withdraw if the player’s entry is accepted in another tournament.”
What if placed on an Alternate List? There are two options:
-->1. Stay on the Alternate Lists in hope of getting into the tournament.
-->2. Withdraw from the alternate list so you can legally enter another tournament.

ALTERNATES
-->The alternates by event report will be updated daily.
-->Contact us immediately if you realize that you cannot participate.
-->It is the alternates’ responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if your status does change providing the correct information is on your membership profile.
-->Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately.

-->There is indoor back-up at Barber Park Indoor Tennis Center in case of a rain-out.
-->Scheduled match times may change when it rains.
-->ALWAYS call to find out if the tournament has gone indoors, or has only been delayed outdoors. Spencer Love: 336-545-5320 Barber Park: 336-373-5886. Do not leave messages on the recorder.
-->DO NOT ASSUME THAT YOUR MATCH TIME HAS STAYED THE SAME. On the other hand, DO NOT ASSUME THAT YOUR MATCH TIME HAS CHANGED.
-->Match times are approximate.
-->As always, leave plenty of time to get to the main site or alternate sites recommended match check-in time is ½ hour before scheduled match time.
-->Players are responsible for keeping up with their match times and correct sites.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament. If you enter this tournament and are not eligible, any refund is as the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only USTA members can register online if available.
