ABOUT MARTI RODRIGUEZ: Marti Rodriguez kept the USTA Texas
Section office organized and focused from 1983 until she began her
battle with cancer in 2005. Marti had the total trust of each
person in the tennis world as well as with the rest of her world
and family. She was the resident expert of style, grace, rankings
and punctuation in the Texas Section office. After a nearly
two-year battle with cancer, our beloved Marti Rodriguez passed
away on April 17, 2007. Marti was loved and respected by everyone,
without exception. The Capital Area Tennis Association and the USTA
Texas Section are happy to name the Austin ZAT after Marti
Rodriguez. In addition, by increasing the average ZAT entry fee by
five dollars each player will donate to the Texas Tennis &
Education Foundation which helps players who could not otherwise
afford to play tennis. Promoting tennis at all levels was always a
passion of Marti Rodriguez. TEXAS JUNIOR POINTS: ZAT
