John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch Scholarship Award
Congratulations to Margaret Martin for winning a free week at Newks Tennis Camp. Margaret was upbeat during matches and when she was waiting around to play and dealing with weather delays. We appreciated her good sportsmanship, patience and of course the sharing of her cookies with others:))).

Recovery Rule - Effective Immediately
USTA has mandated that all full two out of three set singles matches shall offer a minimum rest period of two hours. A minimum rest period of two hours is not required for matches using shortened formats, matches using 10-point match tiebreaks in lieu of third set, and all 10 & Under tennis formats.
Super Champ Major Zone "B" Draws (Main & Consolation Draw) will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Champ Major Zones (Main Draw) will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set through the quarterfinal round. Semifinals and finals will play a full two out of three set match.
Junior Other Tournaments: Depending on draw size the Tournament Director and / or Referee will determine the appropriate match format.

New CMZ Consolation Format Starting on January 1, 2013, CMZs will use a new consolation format known as the “The First Off Method.” This new format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday.
