TEXAS JUNIOR POINTS: Champ Qualifying and Champ Level 1

ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is for qualified Texas
Championship resident junior players and Super Championship junior
players who are in their LAST TWO MONTHS of age eligibility. You
may enter championship events only in the age division for which
you are qualified! Players may only compete in one ZAT/CMZ/SCMZ per
month. REGISTRATION: SCHEDULE OF PLAY: As early as
8:00 am, Saturday. Players will be expected to play up to three
singles matches per day.

Please Read This Entire Page! Players Who Need to
Withdraw! Please email Steve@stevefranklintennis.com Draws
and match start times will be available 2-26! Re-Check your draw
for any possible changes on Friday evening. Draws will be
posted by 3pm on Tuesday 2-26. All players should pay particular
attention to the abbreviation next to the match time as this
indicates the match location. Players are requested to download a
copy of their draw as well as a map to each site that they are
scheduled to play. Maps are located under the more info tab.
Match Start times!! To improve consistency and help ensure
fairness to all players, Referees and Officials will be strictly
enforcing lateness rules. The Lateness Penalty begins when the
match is scheduled and called, and any court is available. This
means there will be no grace period on first match times or
otherwise. Players should arrive 30 minutes early for every match
and once checked in be ready to play. This includes restroom
visits, equipment adjustments, getting water etc.. If a player
checks in and is not ready when called, point penalties may apply
as well. All players should check in at their assigned location.

Circumstances with matches may arise in which the Site Director may
need to contact you. FORMATS and SCHEDULE OF PLAY Spring
Champ MZ offer Singles only. Boys' and Girls' 12-18s are (two out
of three) sets, ad scoring, with a regular tie-break (first to
seven by 2) for all sets. All divisions have a mandatory first
match loser consolation, 2-3 sets with 10 point tie break in lieu
of the third set. All players will have at least two matches. Play
for Boys' and Girls' 12-18s are scheduled to begin Saturday and
conclude Sunday. Check draws for times and locations. No
Waitlist or Late Entries Per the Texas Section No players may
be added after the entrants have been verified.
AWARDS Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and Consolation
in each draw for Boys' and Girls' 12-18s. PLAYERS NOTE We
appreciated everyone participating in the Dallas Champ MZ. Some
sites may not have water on the court, but will have access to

Recovery Rule - Effective Immediately
USTA has mandated that all full two out of three set singles matches shall offer a minimum rest period of two hours. A minimum rest period of two hours is not required for matches using shortened formats, matches using 10-point match tiebreaks in lieu of third set, and all 10 & Under tennis formats.
Super Champ Major Zone "B" Draws (Main & Consolation Draw) will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Champ Major Zones (Main Draw) will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set through the quarterfinal round. Semifinals and finals will play a full two out of three set match.
Junior Other Tournaments: Depending on draw size the Tournament Director and / or Referee will determine the appropriate match format.

New CMZ Consolation Format Starting on January 1, 2013, CMZs will use a new consolation format known as the “The First Off Method.” This new format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. The Tournament Director will have more detailed information on this format.
