MATCH CHECK IN PROCEDURES - READ PLEASE
MATCH CHECK IN RULE:
Regulation IV.A.2 states "The referee may penalize a player who is on site for lateness if a court is available and the player has failed to check in at the tournament desk by the scheduled match time."
THIS MEANS, IF THERE IS 1 OPEN COURT AT 10:00 AND THERE ARE 3 MATCHES TO PUT ON, THE REFEREE WILL START THE CLOCK FOR LATENESS FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT CHECKED IN FOR 10:00 - EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH COURTS FOR ALL 3 MATCHES.
1. The first matches of each day will report directly to the court at 7:45, and balls will be on the court. Matches should begin promptly at 8:00.
2. For all matches after 8:00 am, please get in a single-file line at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes before your scheduled match time. Do not wait until 9:59 to check in for 10:00. You must go to the bathroom, fill your water bottle, etc. and be ready to go on court before you check in.
3. Once you have checked in, please stay near the tournament desk until we tell you the court assignment. You must be where you can hear us call your name after you check in.
4. We will be watching the clock for lateness. Please do not ask if your opponent has checked in - you have other things to think about. The staff and the Referee will take care of lateness issues you need only worry about your own timeliness.

FACILITY RULES
The Mobile Tennis Center uses conduct rules above and beyond those enforced by the USTA.
Players participating in tournaments at the facilities identified are required to abide by these facility rules of behavior on and off of the court. These rules also apply to parents, coaches, siblings, and other guests of the players.
The list below indicates the Facility Behavior Rules:
- No use of the word "suck" or any form of the word spoken or spelled.
- No use of expressions of frustrations with references to deities (i.e. "Oh My God", "Jesus", "Jesus Christ", "Christ", "God") either spoken or spelled.
- No use of "freaking", "frigging", or "fricking" or variations of such words either spoken or spelled.
- No Smoking anywhere on the premises. Premises includes parking lots, bathrooms, and anywhere within 30 feet of a tennis court.
Verbal rules apply to any langu-age. We have officials on sight that are fluent in many langu-ages.
Anyone found in violation of these rules may be subject to a Code Violation and receive suspension points.

SOUTHERN LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Beginning January 1, 2012, all USTA Southern Level 3 tournaments will adhere to a set and consistent format. Taking cost and school day factors into account, the Junior Competition Committee has determined that the Level 3 tournaments will be conducted as follows:
- Matches are only to be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday
- Each division will consist of two 16 feed in draws, with dependent draws
- The draws will be waterfalled to make two balanced draws
- Each draw will use the new Level 3 Point table (increased points)
- Selections will remain the same as in the past. The top 32 players will be selected using the same process for bringing in the lower age division (four from the top 40)
- Until Wednesday prior to the tournament start date, alternates will fill in for any withdrawn player
- On Wednesday, the tournament director will split the 32 players into two balanced 16 draws using a format supplied by the Southern Office
- Seeding must be done using the Southern Seeding Calculator
- After the draws are complete, the next alternate will fill a “withdrawal” spot no matter in which draw the withdrawal occurs
- If a seeded player withdraws prior to 9:00 am local time the Friday before the tournament, the seeds shall be adjusted (only in that particular draw) according to FAC
- If the withdrawal occurs after 9:00 am local time, the next alternate would be placed on the same line as the withdrawing seed
- Out of Section players would be dealt with the same as has been done, only after all of our Section players have been taken care of first
- In the 12’s division, four players from the 10’s division will be selected by the guidelines but these players will not be considered for seeding
- Players will be guaranteed three rounds most will have four
- The new Level 3 point table will be used starting January 1, 2012
- Draw information
o Two 16 feed in draws with dependent draws
o All single matches will be best of three with a match tiebreak to be used for the third set
o If the number of entrants for a division is less than 24, one draw will be made using a modified back draw
- Doubles:
o One draw of 16
o Pro set to be used

ALTERNATES
CONTACT INFORMATION
It is your responsibility to notify me of your most current contact information. I will first email an alternate to offer an open spot. If there is no response, I will call the available phone numbers. I will leave a message, but move on to the next alternate. Please email your contact info.
ORDERED ALTERNATES REPORT
This is the order alternates will replace any withdrawals originally selected from the Standings List. This report will be posted after selections.
POINT OF NO RETURN
It is your duty to notify us if you have reached the point where travelling is not an option. We understand that some of you may not be able to come at a moments notice if a spot opens. Please be courteous and withdraw from the alternates list if you know you cannot travel. I have to contact alternates in order, even though it may be the night before the tournament and you are in North Carolina. We cannot know someone's intent until you tell us. As long as you are on the Alternates by Event Report, YOU are telling us you can still attend.
ENTRY FEE
Because you were not selected in the initial process, you must call (251) 208-5185 and provide a credit card number for processing the Entry Fee.

MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK IN
Mandatory means just that. We are staying until 10:00 pm for your convenience. We feel strongly that you should be able to make it by that time. Mandatory check in is at the main site, Mobile Tennis Center, 851 Gaillard Drive, Mobile, AL 36608.
For those of you that "just can't make it by that time" need to do the following and please do not call:
1. Make sure your entry fee has been paid - check the Tournament Entry Fee Report when posted
2. Email or Fax in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed to 251/208-5195.
3. Show up 30 minutes before your match time. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament.
4. Those of you playing 8:00 am matches at the Mobile Tennis Center will need to be on your assigned court at 7:45. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time.
On Saturday we will only have one person checking in players for the tournament (those that did not come the night before). Obviously this is not enough to check in everyone 30 minutes before their matchtimes. If you are not on your court by your assigned match time, you will be penalized. Because you did not check-in the night before, is no excuse for being late for your match. We cannot predict if there will be 5 people or 50 people waiting to check in when you do. You cannot play your match until you have checked in for the tournament. If there is a line that causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of you to check-in on Friday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers.
Thank you for your cooperation.

ENTRY FEE
Please Check the "Entry Fee Owed Report" when posted to make sure your fee has been paid. There will be several Credit Card Failures and Alternate Entries that will have to pay the entry fee. We do not accept checks. YOU HAVE TWO OPTIONS ONLY:
1. OVERNIGHT YOUR FEE. MONEY ORDER ONLY - Made Payable to MATA, c/o Mobile Tennis Center, 851 Gaillard Drive, Mobile, AL 36608.
2. CALL IN YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. Call the Mobile Tennis Center Pro Shop at (251) 208-5185 only, Monday - Thursday 8:30 am - 7:00 pm. Do not call any other phone numbers or email for credit card processing.
Some of you will send in your waivers and it is listed on this report. If you have an "S" in the Waiver column, it means I have received your Signed Waiver with contact information completed.
