109TH ANNUAL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA JR SECTIONALS PRESENTED BY FARMERS CLASSIC (NJT QUALIFYING EVENT)

Congratulations to Jeffrey Mah of Irvine for being named the Solinco Sports "Player of the Tournament". The Tournament Committee selected Jeffrey based on not only his fine play on court, but his outstanding sportsmanship and respect for both his opponents and the sport. Jeffrey will receive a free Solinco racquet, bag and reel of string for this accomplishment.

Welcome to the 109th Annual Southern California Junior Sectional Championships, presented by the FARMERS CLASSIC. This tournament is the largest annual junior in the United States. We are looking forward to your participation. Please scroll down for important tournament information. Please note this event is the Southern California Nike Junior Tour qualifying event (14's and 12's only), information about the NJT is below.

This year's Junior Sectionals is presented by the FARMERS CLASSIC, an ATP Tour 250 event here at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on the campus of UCLA. The 2010 champions were Sam Querrey (singles) & Bob/Mike Bryan (doubles). The 2011 event will take place July 22-31. The SCTA would like to thank Farmers Insurance Group for their support of tennis in Southern California. Proceed on Warner until you reach Newhope Street. Turn right onto Newhope. When you reach the stoplight where the post office is, turn left into the Village. The club is located in the back of the complex. From the 405 North, exit Euclid/Newhope Street. Go straight through the exit, you are now on Newhope. 2011 SCTA POINTS PER ROUND RANKING

For Southern California open ranking purposes, this tournament is a SCTA Level 1 event for both singles & doubles. For USTA national ranking purposes, this tournament is a USTA Level 3 event for both singles & 18's doubles. more info

2011 SCTA ENDORSEMENT REQUIREMENTS

The SCTA Junior Sectional Championships is a SCTA designated tournament for USTA National Championship endorsement. To access the 2011 SCTA endorsement requirements for these events, please click on the link provided here: more info

The Nike Junior Tour (NJT) is a worldwide series of junior singles tournaments for Boys and Girls in the 12 and 14 age groups. There are currently 34 countries participating in the NJT, representing over 60,000 players. Former NJT International Masters participants include Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin Del Potro and Tomas Berdych. The winner(s) of this event will be invited to compete at the NJT USA National Masters in September at the Evert Tennis Academy, date TBA. The NJT USA National Masters is a Level II USTA National event. Nike provides round trip transportation, food and lodging for the winner(s) (B14, B12, G14, G12) plus one team coach. The NJT USA National Masters winners advance to play in the NJT International Masters in December, date and location TBA. Expenses for the International Masters are paid for by Nike.

NJT USA qualifying leads to the NJT International Masters where 28 countries participate. Therefore, to be eligible for the NJT USA National Masters and the NJT International Masters, players must meet the ITF (International Tennis Federation) age eligibility cutoff date of December 31st. Example: If you are currently 12, but will turn 13 on or before December 31, 2011, you may play in the Section Championship in the 12's but WOULD NOT BE ELIGIBLE to compete in the 12’s at the NJT USA National Masters or the International Masters. Players should consider the ITF age eligibility to determine which age group to enter if they want to be eligible to go on to the NJT USA National Masters or International Masters.
