10 AM matches at Laguna Niguel Racquet Club are delayed to 11:30am. 11:30 matches are still scheduled as planned. Due to possible inclement weather players should still show up at their stated site at their scheduled time. Should this change we will update the website on a regular basis.

SCORING – 2 out of three sets, match tiebreak in lieu of third set
USTA rules will be enforced. Matches will be 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak (Super tiebreaker) in lieu of third set for all matches except the finals. The tournament reserves the right to modify scoring, such as no-ad scoring, should there be scheduling problems.

DRAWS & site location
The draws are posted. Please accept our apologies, tennislink was down for a period of time so we could not get the draws posted. Please review your draw times and be prepared to play as scheduled. It is possible that draw times could change so we recommend that you check the draws up to Thursday evening. Sunday match times MAY CHANGE DUE TO POTENTIAL CONFLICTS. We will make those adjustments throughout the tournament. Please note that the tournament will be held at various sites. Prize money is guaranteed for Men’s & Women’s Open divisions (Singles, Doubles & Mixed) for all winners and finalists. Please note that the acceptance of prize money affects amateur status and NCAA rules.

RATINGS FOR PARTICIPATION
Players cannot play below their USTA NTRP rating. If a player does not have a USTA rating, they must play at or above their club rating. All ratings are subject to verification, and the tournament committee reserves the right to reclassify or disqualify any player or team if determined to be overqualified for the division(s) entered. NTRP events are open to players 19 years or older. Junior players 18 years and under must participate in the Open division. Please review the NTRP reference table. Guidelines will be followed according to player experience, especially for collegiate players in the NTRP categories.

RESTRICTIONS-
NO SPLIT DIVISIONS: Players are limited to two events in the SAME DIVISION!

Due to USTA policy, tournament directors are not allowed access to contact information for tournament participants unless the player enters their information at the time of registration. If you do not provide a method of communication, we cannot contact you for any reason, including withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays, etc.

WITHDRAWALS -
Prior to entries closing, a player may withdraw or re-register (change event(s), doubles partner) thru the tournament’s TennisLink homepage. No refunds for withdrawals after entries have closed.
|
DIVISION MINIMUMS/REFUNDS –
Minimum number of four (4) entries/teams per division. If the minimum number of players is not reached, draws may be combined or cancelled. Refunds will be issued for cancelled divisions/draws.
|
SUBSTITUTIONS -
Players may make substitutions prior to draws being made. After draws are posted, no substitutions are allowed. All substitution requests must be made in writing and submitted to the tournament director at least three days prior to the draws being posted.
|
SCHEDULING CONFLICTS -
There is no guarantee of that we can accommodate your scheduling request(s). Additionally, any player who enters two concurrent tournaments need written approval from both tournament directors or point penalties will be assessed.
|
PLAYER’S GIFT –
Each player will receive a Michael Chang Tennis Classic gift bag. Player’s gifts pick up TBA. Only one gift per participating player.
|
CHECK-IN & DEFAULTS –
Players are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to their match time to check-in. Players may be defaulted 15 minutes after their scheduled start time. Point penalty system will be in effect.
|
HOLD HARMLESS FORM –
All players are required to sign a waiver of release prior to the start of their first round match.
|
MATCH WARM-UP –
10 minutes, including serves.
|

DRESS CODE –
All players must wear proper tennis attire. Tennis shoes required, no black-soles.

PLAYER SELECTION TYPE –
Draw sizes are limited to 64. All registered players will be selected until the maximum number of players (by division) has been reached.

ENTRY TYPE –
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by July 19, 2011 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
