Draw reminders for FICQ, 3/4 playoffs, and consolation bracket
· - The ¾ playoff is played out for draws that are
not a round robin. I - If there are 5 players or less in a division, then
a round robin format will be played. - If there are 6-8 players in a draw, then you DO
play out the consolation finals (because of match count). -If there are 9-16 players in a draw, then the
finals of the consolation are NOT played out (both players that reach the
finals will receive the same number of standing points).

Match Format (10/U, 12/U, 14/U, and 16/U)
BG 10/U: matches shall be the best of 2 short sets (first to 4 and win by 2), with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and
win by two (2) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to 7 and win by 2) for the third set.
AD-SCORING. One (1) hour rest between matches.
BG 12/U-16/U: matches shall be best 2 out of 3 sets (10 pt. tiebreaker in lieu of full 3rd set). There is AD scoring.

Each
draw will be limited to 16 players with a Feed in thru Quarterfinals (FICQ);
with a 3/4 playoff match.

PLAYER’S RESPONSIBILITY It is the PLAYER’S responsibility to know their next match time and show up in a timely manner. Check the website often for updated match times. PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO ITS SCHEDULED START TIME. ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR LATENESS.

FORMAT AND SCORING 2 out of 3 sets (10pt Coman tiebreaker in lieu of a 3rd set). The format is FMLC (First Match Loser Consolation).

SEEDING
This tournament’s seeding will be done in accordance with USTA Regulations. They will be compiled and examined by the Head Referee, Tournament Director, and members of the Tournament Committee.
Factors to consider in seeding (taken from “Friend at Court”)
Seedings merely represent the Committee’s subjective ratings of the various players’ chances of winning the tournament. These ratings may not be based on whim, caprice, or hunches, but instead shall be justified by a reasonable amount of factual evidence, including, but not limited to, rankings, current records, types of surface, and particularly head to head encounters. Two outstanding doubles players playing together for the first time should be considered for a place on the seeded list.

WITHDRAWALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so online. Click on “Edit Registration,” then “Withdraw.” You will need your original confirmation number. All withdrawals after entries close must both be sent in writing by email (to the Tournament Director’s address above) and by phone to the tournament site. Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

LIMITED DRAWS AND SELECTION PROCESS Limited Draws: All divisions will be limited to 16 players. The Tournament Director also reserves the right to allow more players into a division than the entry limit if possible.
Selection Process: The top players applying from the USTA/NC most current standings list will be selected into the draw. Selections will be posted no later than the Monday after the deadline at 5:00 PM. The names of players who have been selected will appear as “Competitors.”

ALTERNATES
The alternates by event report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately if you realize that you cannot participate. It is the alternates’ responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if your status does change providing the correct information is on your membership profile. Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately.

DIRECTIONS: The tournament will be held at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex at Empie Park. It is located at 3405-A Park Avenue. Wilmington, NC 28403.
If you are driving from the Raleigh/Chapel Hill/Durham area: Take I-40 East. Then merge onto US-117/S/NC 132 S/N. College Rd. Turn right onto Oleander Dr/US-76. Turn right onto Independence Blvd. Then make your first right onto Park Avenue. You will see Empie Park on your left and make your first left. At the stop sign, make a left and you will see the tennis courts and tennis clubhouse where the check-in is on your right.
From Charlotte area: Merge onto US-74 E towards NC-27. Then merge onto US-76 East via the exit on the left toward Wilmington/State Port/Carolina Beach/Kure Beach. Make a slight right onto US-76. Left onto Independence Blvd. Then make your first right onto Park Avenue. You will see Empie Park on your left.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, September 10, 2017 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
