Curtis Consolation-MFIC for Level 2 tournaments
Purpose: For players to play in more matches with more equitable competition. Adds a layered 2nd consolation called Curtis Draw (losers R16 & QF—12 total players). This is the best option to optimize the players’ competition. We are doing this because the L2’s are a THREE DAY TOURNAMENT only, and with the R16, the loser of the R16 only plays 1 match because the consolation had to catch up. The Curtis Draw allows players to play 2 matches when they lose in the R16 and do not have to wait for consolation to catch up.
|
FORMAT & SCORING
Singles matches for 64 draws (FIC Thru Round of 16) will begin on Saturday morning with finals on Monday. Match tie break for the third set will be played in the feed in. Doubles matches will start Friday evening no earlier than 5:00 pm local time. Back draw matches for Level 2’s will finish on Monday. Doubles will consist of a 32 single elimination draw. An eight game pro set will be played with a tie break at 8 all. A 3/4 playoff shall be played in both singles and doubles.
