TOURNAMENT CANCELLED (Posted 1/5/17 - 3:00 PM)
To ensure the safety of all of the
players the Tournament Committee has decided as of January 5, 2017 to cancel
the tournament. In the event of inclement weather and you do not play any
matches in this tournament you are entitled to a partial refund based on the
fixed tournament expenses such as trophies, t-shirts, USTA officials and other
costs that must be covered. The tennis link portion of your entry fee is
non-refundable in accordance with USTA policy. We will try to update you on the
alternate date for the tournament. Thank you for your patience.

SEEDING CRITERIA (Posted 1/5/17)
The new Seeding criteria was not updated on January 1, 2017. Please see the criteria below: SEEDING Seeding shall follow the USTA Southern Section seeding regulations and will be provided by Southern with the selection list. Players selected on their 10s standing shall not be considered for seeding in the 12s division.

If you have not checked in on Friday, you must register at your playing site 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match time (NO EXCEPTION)! On-site Alternates: You must email the Tournament Referee (khmabry@hotmail.com) that you are planning on being an on-site alternate. Check it at the Tournament Desk at the site of your Age Division 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled match. You must have a check or Money Order (no credit cards accepted).

Park – B18 Sunday Sites: Check the draw for your playing site...do not assume that you are playing at the same site as you played on Saturday. Dependent Draws: These draws are for players who lose in the First Round of Consolation (first and first). The draws will be made Saturday evening and posted by 8:00 pm. We will not be able to determine if you will have a match until these rounds are completed, but we will try to have information available to you at the sites as matches finish. Players should check with the tournament desk before leaving the site. You can come by Newman Tennis Center if you have questions.
Withdrawals During the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at Newman Tennis
Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly
defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a
"No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE! If the
player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide
written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no
later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite
trainer will suffice. WEATHER: Check this site for all communications regarding possible scheduling changes due to inclement weather conditions. DRESS WARMLY!

We are aware of the impending weather that may impact parts of the SE region. Although this may affect travel plans for some participants, the tournament will not be cancelled at this time. NEW USTA SOUTHERN SELECTION CRITERIA (POSTED 1/1/2017)
Beginning January 1, 2017 USTA Southern will follow suit with USTA National and adopt Counting Points Up for STA Standings. For L1A, L2 & L3 tournaments, players will no longer be considered for selection based on their lower age division standings. New information on this process will be updated on the USTA Southern website.

ENTRIES CLOSE ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 1ST @ 11:59 PM (EASTERN TIME)

SELECTION PROCESS
Because this
is a Level 3 STA Event the following Selection Process is being used: Top 32
players applying from the USTA/Southern latest standings list. 28 players from
this age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group
who are eligible from the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 40
of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 28, will be
selected. The names of the player who
have been selected will appear as Competitors. Alternates will be listed in the
report section.
Players are
allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: 1. Players selected to
both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older
age division and would be removed from the other age division. 2. Players not
selected to either division would remain on the Alternate's lists for both
divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in and would be removed from the Alternate's list in the other
division. 3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the
Alternate's list of the division they were not selected. 4. Once a player is
selected for any one division no changes can be made.

WATERFALL SYSTEM FOR SPLITTING COMPETITORS
The players
will be ordered using current standings and players from the younger age group
that meet the selection requirements will be added to the player list. Seeding will be made prior to the players
being split. Players from the lower age group that were selected and meet the
seeding criteria will be seeded according to the STA directions. The 32 players will be split as follows.
Red Draw: 1,4,5,8,9,12,13,16,17,20,21,24,25,28,29,32
White Draw: 2,3,6,7,10,11,14,15,18,19,22,23,26,27,30,31

SEEDING
Seeding for this tournament will be based on the latest Southern Standing at the time of entry closing. In addition, factors to consider are: Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division. Players with current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding. The Southern Seeding Calculator will be used to assist in seeding any younger players playing up who met the set criteria to be seeded.

ALTERNATES
Alternates List: The alternate list will be updated daily. Once posted, It will be listed above - "Alternate by Event" list. If you plan to enter another tournament, you have to first e-mail the Tournament Director to take your name off the alternate list. On Site" Alternates must register at their age group's tournament site. You must inform the Tournament Referee on Friday night or before that if you plan to be an On-Site Alternate. Please make sure we have accurate contact information for you to be reached during the weekend. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. On Site Alternates should be on-site when their age and gender check in for play 30 minutes prior to the first match in the first round (or 2nd round if there are byes).

PLAYING FORMAT AND SCORING
32 players
will be selected for each event (see selection process headline) and then be
split into two Draws of 16 players using the Waterfall System for selection
(see Waterfall Headline), with a Full Feed in Consolation through the Quarters
and 3/4 playoff. IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE CURRENT SOUTHERN REGULATIONS: All
Singles draws (12-18) will play the best two out of three tie-break sets with a
Match tie break in lieu of the third set. Important Note: The Finals of the Feed-In Consolation will
not be played.
Boys and
Girls 10's will play on the 78 foot court using Green Low Compression Balls
and up tp 29" racquet.
The required
scoring format, for 10's singles matches, shall be the best of two short sets - No-Ad Scoring
(first to four (4) and win by two), with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and
win by two) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win
by two) in lieu of the third set. If the 10's draw is a draw of 16 or more the event will be scheduled over the two days of the tournament. If the draw is 8 or less it will be scheduled to play on Saturday.

DEPENDENT DRAWS (IMPORTANT - READ CAREFULLY)
Dependent Draws are for players who lose their first two matches (main and consolation, regardless of round). Each round of the Dependent Draw is worth 10 ranking points. We will play the Dependent Draws on Sunday so check with your site before leaving the tournament to make certain if you will have a match. Please note that there will be some Byes and not all matches will be played. All players who have a scheduled match are expected to play; failure to show up for a match is considered a "No Show" and subject to penalties.

WITHDRAWALS (READ CAREFULLY)
Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline: Go to the Tournament website under "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen and click "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the entry fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes. Withdrawal After Entry Deadline: Immediately contact the Tournament Director to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal to mfaughnan@augustaga.gov; DO NOT call to withdraw. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No refunds. All withdrawals for reasons other than illness, injury, and personal circumstances or withdrawals for any reason without the proper written notification are actually defaults and Code of Conduct Reports will be completed for each defaulting player even though an alternate may take that defaulting player’s place in the draw. WITHDRAWAL REFUND POLICY
A player
shall not enter a tournament and then withdraw when the player discovers that
tough opponents have also entered. A
player may withdraw from a match or tournament only because of injury, illness,
or personal emergency. A player who
cannot play a match shall notify the Referee at once so that the opponent may
be saved a trip. A player who withdraws
from a tournament is not entitled to the return of the entry fee unless the
player withdrew prior to the published refund deadline date.
Deadline for refund: player must withdraw by Noon on Monday, January 2nd to receive a refund.
In the event
of inclement weather and you do not play any matches in this tournament you are
entitled to a partial refund based on the fixed tournament expenses. Please
understand that tournaments have fixed costs which include: Trophies, T-shirts,
Balls, USTA Officials, and many other costs that we must cover. The tennislink
portion of your entry fee is non-refundable in accordance with USTA policy. If
you do complete a match there is no refund/credit. Thank you for your
understanding.

USTA SOUTHERN TENNIS PARENT ALERT AND JUNIOR MEDICAL RELEASE FORM

Southern requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player.
This form is two pages and must be presented at the time of tournament
registration. Please download and bring this completed form with you to speed
up the registration process. Players are not allowed on court without this

PLAYER INSTRUCTIONS
Please note the following information: 1. "The Code", which is the Players' Guide to Fair Play and The Unwritten Rules of Tennis, is part of the tournament regulations and should be reviewed. You may download a copy from the USTA website. 2. While on court or during a match, a player may not receive information via electronic devices capable of receiving communications such as cell phones or smartwatches. Cell phones and electronic devices should be turned off or in vibrate mode and stored in your tennis bag. 3. Players are responsible for their own match times. 4. In case of inclement weather, do not leave your site without permission from the Referee or Site Referee. 5. Point Penalty System (PPS): violations of the Code of Conduct will result in the following: 1st offence POINT, 2nd offence GAME, 3rd offence DEFAULT. Egregious behavior can result in an automatic DEFAULT. Audible Obscenity: Any commonly known obscene language that is reported by a Court Monitor or official may be penalized (God, Jesus, Christ, etc. cannot be used singularly or together). Obscene Gesture: Any gestures commonly understood to be obscene will be penalized. Abuse of Equipment: Rackets may not be slide, bounced, kicked or thrown to the court. Violent contact with the fence, greenery, sprinkler system, net or anything on or around the court will be penalized. The court is part of the match equipment and will not be abused. Tics of the racket head can mar the court surface and will not be tolerated. Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Any action that could be considered unsportsmanlike conduct in nature will be penalized (ex. pumping of fist or yelling "come on" in the direction of your opponent, and actions or outbursts intended to taunt or intimidate your opponent). Celebrating an opponent's unforced error in any manner is unsportsmanlike. Intentionally delaying the game will be penalized. Coaching (verbally or with hand signals) or any confrontation by parents, coaches or spectators during the tournament is subject to a Code Violation. The player will immediately be given a code and the person coaching or in confrontation will be removed from the playing area. Please see the Tournament Referee if you have any questions regarding the above.

PLAYER REGISTRATION
Early Player Registration will be held Friday, January 6th
from 5-7 pm at Newman Tennis Center. If you do not register on Friday, you must complete the process at your scheduled playing site at least 30 minutes prior to your match time. If you have not checked in for your match and are ready to play you will be subject to the PPS (NO EXCEPTIONS).

DRESS CODE
The Tournament
committee has set a dress code in this Tournament The Rules to which all
participants are expected to adhere.
These Rules are based on our community standards and all participants
must observe all rules at all of the sites used during the tournament. Good manners on and off the court will be
required of all participants, coaches and family at all times.
Proper
tennis attire should be worn. For
females, proper attire does not include, roll down waist bands on skirts or
shorts, or exposure of skin between tops and skirts or shorts. For males proper attire does not include tank
tops or sleeveless shirts, or shorts worn below the waist. Shirts must be worn at all times. Please respect our standards and adhere to
our rules. Failure to do so will result
in the player being required to change prior to the match. This delay may result in penalties (PPS)
being assessed.

THIS IS A GEORGIA LEVEL 3 SUPER CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR BG 10-18. THIS
IS ALSO A SOUTHERN LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENT. The tournament is sanctioned
Saturday-Sunday. Since this tournament has a Southern Level 3
designation, the tournament is required to follow Southern
requirements. The draws are limited to 32 using the Waterfall
system to split the entrants into two draws of 16, with a full FIC
and 3/4 playoff in the main draw. Consolation Singles Scoring will
be the best of 2 sets with a Match Tie-Break in lieu of the third
set. Boys/Girls 10 & Under divisions will play short sets with
all matches on a 78' court with up to 29" racket and use low
compression balls. In the event of inclement weather and alternate
scoring system may be used. Players are encouraged to use hotels
listed on the entry form. Early Check in will be from 5-7 PM
January 6th at Newman Tennis Center. Please see directions in the
Notes. For information about Newman Tennis Center, go to our web
site. To enter you must use the USTA's On-line registration. SUPER
CHAMPIONSHIP - Open to all players regardless of ranking. No
refunds are made when players withdraw after the draw has been

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament.
