MULTIPLE ENTRIES AND SELECTION PROCESS
USTA NATIONAL LEVEL 3
TOURNAMENTS
MULTIPLE ENTRIES AND SELECTION PROCESS
Players may choose ONE of the following
options, but NOT both:
·
OPTION
1: ENTER any ONE (1) division of TWO (2) concurrent USTA National Level 3
Tournaments (this may be a different division in each tournament); OR
·
OPTION
2: ENTERr TWO (2) divisions of ONE (1) USTA National Level 3 tournament
Players may PLAY in only ONE division
of ONE tournament.
Players who register for
three (3) or more events will be given 5 suspension points and will only be
selected into a maximum of two events.
OPTION 1: ONE (1) Division of TWO (2) Concurrent
Tournaments
·
Tournament
Committees will publish the selection and alternate lists no later than two (2)
days after entries close.
·
A
player accepted into both tournaments shall be required to notify the
tournaments no later than five (5) days after the entry deadline (Tuesday
following entry deadline) as to which to which tournament they will play, and
the player shall be refunded their entry fee from the tournament from which the
player is withdrawing. Failure to
withdraw by the deadline absolves the tournament from which the player is
withdrawing from their obligation to refund the entry fee. If a player remains
on more than one competitor list 12 days following the entry deadline (second
Tuesday after the entry deadline), that player will be removed from BOTH
events.
·
If
a player has not been accepted into any tournament, the player may remain on
the alternate list of all tournaments entered, but upon acceptance into one,
the player may not withdraw from that tournament to play in another.
·
Under
no circumstances may a player after being accepted into one concurrent
tournament withdraw and play in another. Doing so shall result in the
assessment of four (4) suspension points for withdrawing for reason other than
injury, illness or personal circumstance.
OPTION 2: TWO Divisions of ONE
Tournament
·
When
a USTA National Level 3 Tournament includes more than one age division, a
player may enter up to two age divisions of that tournament.
·
Players
shall be selected who have entered two divisions in descending age division
order: 18, 16, 14, and 12. If a player is entered in two age divisions of a
USTA National Level 3 Tournament and is selected into the older division, that
player shall not be eligible for selection into the younger division.
·
If
a player is not selected for either age division, that player is eligible to be
an alternate for the younger age division only.

Entry Fee Refunds
ENTRY FEE REFUNDS Refunds Prior to Close of Entries. Because credit cards are not charged until after selection has been
done, players withdrawing before the entry deadline are not charged the entry fee.
Refunds After Entries Close. The Tournament Committee is responsible for all entry fee refunds after
entries close. A Tournament Committee is only required to refund a player’s entry fee if:
• the entry is not accepted; or
• the withdrawal is for previously authorized entry into another tournament.
In all other cases (such as withdrawals for illness, injury or personal circumstances), a refund is not
required.
A Tournament Committee may, at its discretion, choose to refund a player’s entry fee. It is recommended
that if the Tournament Committee refunds entry fees not otherwise required to be refunded, criteria for
when refunds are made shall be set and consistently refunded based on the criteria. If refunds are made,
the Tournament Committee shall not charge any fee (such as a processing, service, or handling fee, for
refunding the entry.

Tournament Registration
TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION Non-Team
Tournaments shall use TennisLink, the USTA online registration system. Entries close on the entry deadline
day at 11:59 am (one minute before noon) Eastern Time. Deadlines are set by the USTA, are approximately
three weeks before the entry deadline, and appear on the TennisLink Tournament Home Page.
• Entering Using TennisLink: Generally, registration opens six weeks prior to the entry deadline. Entry is
made directly by the junior player (or user) into the tournament using TennisLink. Players must go to
www.USTA.com and click on Tournaments on the navigation bar on the left side of the screen to reach the
Searchable Schedule. To reach the TennisLink Tournament Home Page, players must use the features of
the Searchable Schedule. Once at the Tournament Home Page, players will follow the directions to enter.
Players will need a USTA number and a credit card to make payment. If a player does not have access to
the internet or a credit card, they should contact the Tournament Director for assistance with entering.
• Confirmation Number: Upon completion of the registration process, players will receive a confirmation
number that indicates a successful registration. This number does NOT mean a player has been accepted
into the tournament. For tournaments on the National Junior Tournament Schedule, selection and
acceptance notification occurs after the entry deadline. It is a player’s responsibility to check the
applicant list for their name AND, also check the selection process list for a checkmark next to their name
to confirm successful completion of the registration process. If a player is unable to confirm their
registration within 3-4 hours after submitting the registration, email linkteam@usta.com.
• Online Assistance: If a player is having trouble using TennisLink, they should contact the LinkTeam at
linkteam@usta.com. An additional online resource is the TennisLink Tutorial – Go to www.USTA.com,
click on Juniors/Tournament Registration.
• Payment of Entry Fee: Players are not selected until after entries close and entrants’ credit cards will not
be charged until the selection for the tournament has been completed. Players who are alternates will not
be charged. If alternates get into a tournament, they will have to pay their entry fee at the time of
acceptance in a method acceptable to the tournament.
Section 4 - 6
• Problems with Credit Cards: An entrant whose credit card is unable to be charged will be sent an email
stating there is a problem with the credit card with instructions to contact the tournament to arrange
payment. The person listed as the Tournament Director will be cc’d on this email if an email address has
been provided in the Online Sanction Form.
• Assistance to Players Without Access to Internet or Credit Card - USTA National Level 3 Tournaments and
any other Tournament using Tournament Director Selection Process: Players without access to the
internet or to a credit card may contact a tournament to be batch entered by the Tournament Director.
Tournament Directors must make sure to receive payment of the entry fee before these players begin play
in the tournament.
• Assistance to Players Without Access to Internet or Credit Card - All Other Tournaments: Entries MUST be
processed using the USTA’s automated registration system since selection to these events is performed
electronically, therefore entries must be made online and a credit card must be provided during the check
out process. Players who have concerns about their ability to submit a timely entry should be referred to
their Sectional Association, which may be able to offer assistance.
