Touranment Cancelled
Reluctantly, we must cancel the tournament for this year. With under 50 compeititors, there is no possible way to come any where close to breaking even financially. We need a minimum of around 125 players to be able to guarantee the prize money and cover expenses. It is not financially feasible to take $5,000+ loss on this tournament this year. Locally, the storm damage repairs are still just beginning and a few of us just got our power back on, whicn surely contributed to the low registration turnout. This tounrament is usually held over the 4th of July weekend. Next year the 4th of July will be on a Thursday, giving a long holiday weekend situation once again, when we will hold this 2013 tournament. Having the 4th on a Wednesday this year really complicated things, as no one wanted to miss that much work.

Prize Money
This is a prize money tournament. The Mens and Womens Open Singles prizes are guarnteed amounts to the placers. All other events pay a percentage of the entry fees in each event to the placers. In the past this had been part of the Midwest US Open Series, which has regrettably been discontinued. All events: open, age group singles, doubles and mixed doubles, will have prize money distributed at the conclusion of the finals in each event. Here is the money breakdown.
