AGE ELIGIBILITY: Adult “age” events – Participants must be the event age or older on December 31, 2012.

EVENT LIMITS: All players are limited to one singles, one doubles, and one mixed doubles event.

DOUBLES ENTRY DEADLINE: Due to the fact that all draws are made 1 day prior to the start of the tournament, the entry deadline for all of the doubles events is the same as it is for the singles events. There is no “on-site” doubles sign-up at this tournament.

HEADQUARTERS: Veterans Memorial Tennis Center, 1309 8^th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa (next to Memorial and Kingston Stadiums).

July 27 (Friday)

1:00 p.m. - Men’s Open, 4.0NTRP, & 3.5NTRP Singles

1:00 p.m. - Women’s Open, 4.0NTRP, & 3.5NTRP Singles

5:30 p.m. - Mixed Doubles (all events)

July 28 (Saturday)

8:30 a.m. - Men’s 35, 45, 55, & 65 Singles

8:30 a.m. - Women’s 35 Singles

10:30 a.m. - All Doubles Events (excluding mixed)

July 29 (Sunday)

9:00 a.m. - Semi-finals (Men’s Open Singles)

11:00 a.m. - MIXED DOUBLES FINALS (if schedule permits)

1:00 p.m. - SINGLES FINALS

3:00 p.m. - DOUBLES FINALS

5:00 p.m. - MIXED DOUBLES FINALS (if necessary)

DEFAULT RULE: A 30 minute default rule will be used for all first round matches. A 15 minute default rule will be used for all subsequent matches. Players are responsible for knowing the time of their next match before leaving the tournament site.

FREE WATER JUG: All paid entrants will receive a FREE Iowa Open water jug.

BBQ: Adult participants are invited to a BBQ on the deck area at Elmcrest Country Club on Friday evening courtesy of the Cedar Rapids Tennis Association.

INDOOR COURT FEES: If the tournament chairman determines that play must be moved indoors due to rain, indoor court fees will be shared by the players at the rate of $5.00 per player per match.

SEEDING INFORMATION: It is extremely important to both you and your opponents that seeding information be sent to the tournament committee so that we can make the draws as accurate as possible. “NTRP” EVENTS: Participants must be 19 or older and have an NTRP rating less than or equal to the NTRP level of the event. In the 7.0 and 8.0 Mixed Doubles events the combined NTRP rating of the team must be 7.0 and 8.0 or less respectively and the rating point difference between the partners cannot be greater than 1.0 .

CONSOLATION DRAWS: There are no consolation draws offered in this tournament.

SCORING: All matches will be best 2 of 3 sets, regular scoring, with Super Breakers used for all third sets.

PROPER TENNIS ATTIRE: We ask that proper tennis attire be worn at this event. Please, no “muscle” shirts, cut-offs, or uncovered sports bras.

“OFFICIAL” BALL: The Wilson U.S. Open Extra Duty tennis ball (T1071) will be used for all tournament matches.

AWARDS: State of Iowa plaques will be awarded to all finalists except those events with less than 4 participants.
