Firecracker Junior State Championships (AR Level 3, STA Level 4)

Due to the extreme heat expected this weekend, all matches will have a tie break in leau of a third set. Also, the dates for this tournament includes Monday, but we will not be using Monday. We will finish on Sunday.

Doubles will be played Saturday evening and Sunday morning. If you want to sign up for doubles please email me before Thursday at noon. If you are signed up for doubles but do not have a partner, I will pair you with whoever also does not have a partner. Doubles will be 8-game prosets with a tiebreak at 7-7, and the draws will be singles elimination.

We will be starting matches as early as 4pm on Friday. However, we will try to accommodate the people coming in from out of town as much as we can with later start times, like 7pm or even 8pm as needed. Some people may not have to play on Friday...that is just the luck of the draw.

The draws will have three different sites on them. Two of the sites are at the Jonesboro Country Club (1408 East Nettleton, Jonesboro, Arkansas, 72401), and the other site is at the Three Oaks Racquet Club (1916 Race St., Jonesboro, Arkansas, 72401). (IN) will be inside at the Jonesboro Country Club. (OUT) will be outside at the Jonesboro Country Club. (3OAKS) will be at the Three Oaks Racquet Club.

All 10-under draws will be using 60 ft courts with low compression balls and 25" racquets. Juniors will play 2 out of 3 sets to four games (win by two with 7-point tiebreak at 4-4) using regular scoring. If they split sets they will get a 3-minute break during which they cannot leave the court, but can be talked to by a parent or coach. After the 3-minute break, a 7-point tiebreak will be played in lieu of a 3rd set.

Juniors in these divisions will be playing two out of three sets using regular scoring. If they split sets they will get a 10-minute break before starting the full third set. Matches in the consolation draws will get a 3-minute break during which they can be coached, and then will start a 10 point match tiebreak in leau of the 3rd set.
