Ice Availability
Due to the high temperatures expected, the facilities may have trouble keeping up with the demand for ice. Players are encouraged to bring ice from home or their hotel when possible.
Ice and water will be available at Rebsamen, but there will not be water on the courts. Be sure to have your water jugs filled before going on court.

Two Sites Will Be Used
First match times have been posted. Play will be at Burns Park Tennis Center (BPTC) and Rebsamen Tennis Center (REB).
Be sure to check your site as well as your match time!

BIRTH CERTIFICATE MUST BE ON FILE
As proof of U.S. citizenship, all players are required to have a birth certificate on file with the Southern Tennis Association in order to be eligible to play in the AR Jr. State Qualifying. If you do not have one on file with the Southern office, you may fax a copy to the Arkansas Tennis Association at 501-223-0531, Attention: Cindy Curtis

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
Please mail or fax (501-223-0531) a signed medical release form to the Arkansas Tennis Association office, 2024 Arkansas Valley Drive, Suite 302, Little Rock, AR 72212. You will not be allowed on the court without a medical release on file signed by both the player and parent. Click on the following link for a copy of the form.

ENTRY DEADLINE
The entry deadline is Monday, May 21 at 11:59 pm (just before midnight). Late entries will not be accepted. No exceptions.

Doubles Information
Doubles Entry Deadline---Tuesday, May 22nd at 11:59 pm---This is the deadline to sign up for doubles and to designate a partner. To register and/or designate a partner after the singles deadline, you will need to email the tournament director before 11:59 pm Tuesday May 22nd. NO DOUBLES ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE 5/22 DOUBLES DEADLINE.
Players that sign up for doubles without a partner will be paired up randomly as long as there are other players without partners. If you don't want to be paired randomly, don't sign up without a partner.
Players must play the same age division in both singles and doubles.

In the Qualifier, players should play the same age division in which they are seeking endorsement to the Southern Closed.

PLAYER CHECK-IN
All players will be able to check-in for the tournament on Friday, May 25th, from 2:30 -4:00 pm at the Burns Park indoor facillity.
Players that do not check in on Firday should check-in at the tournament desk 45 minutes before their first scheduled match time.

Saturday Lunch Provided for Players
The Arkansas Junior Tennis Council will be providing box lunches for the players on Saturday begiining at 11:30 (while supplies last).

Scoring Format for Boys & Girls 10s
Main draw and consolation singles matches will be the best of two short sets to four (by two) with a seven point tiebreak at 4-4. If necessary, a 7 point tiebreak will be played in lieu of a third set, first to seven by two. Ad scoring
Doubles will be a 6 game set with a tiebreak at 6-6 (first to seven by two). Ad scoring. This is the doubles format that will be used at the Southern Closed 10s.
Alternate scoring formats may be used in case of inclement weather. Please check this tournament homepage for inclement weather updates.
Play will be on 60 foot courts, using orange balls and racquets 25 inches or less. All 10 and Under players should have their racquets with them when they check in for each of their matches.

Scoring Format B&G 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s
All main draw singles matches will be best of three tiebreak sets.
All consolation singles matches will be best of two tiebreak sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set.
Doubles will be an 8 game pro set with a 7 point tiebreak at 8 all.

Seeding
Seeding shall be done using only the results from the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings List of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.

There will not be a player meeting on Saturday as was previoulsy posted

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Monday, May 21, 2012 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
