Thanks everyone !!
Thanks to everyone who played in the tournament !! After a rough start with the rain, we had a couple of great days of tennis. We hope everyone liked the new format of the Southern Level 3 tournaments with the divisions and the extra draws. We played close to 500 matches in 2 days !! And believe it or not, due to the changes in the format there is A LOT more manual entry of the times, draws, and sites. I basically had to go back to my old days of writing things down !! It was crazy and we apologize for any human errors that may have occured in the scheduling, BUT overall we thought the new format worked well. Good luck to everyone the rest of the year and see you in December !!

DRAWS & OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Draws are now posted. Please note that most age groups have two divisions of play (Red & White). Please read the following important information regarding the tournament: All times are now posted for the weekend.
1. Please note your SITE. A site legend and addresses are provided below. It is the players responsibility to show up at the correct site. We cannot help you if you show up on time but at the wrong site.
2. Doubles will start first on Saturday with two rounds of doubles back to back. Doubles is an 8 game pro set so you will play your first one, then play your second one before the singles starts. Doubles is single elimination.
3. The new format for Southern Level 3 tournaments is to divide the draws that are 24 or more people into two divisions (Red & White). The divisions have been waterfalled based on Southern Standings to balance the draws. Any draw less than 24 is one draw.
4. The backdraws will end in the FINALS of the backdraw. This is new to all Southern Level 3s this year so that we can get these done in 2 days. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE, will we play the backdraw finals. This is a direct quote from the Southern office so please don't ask.
5. This year there is also the addition of the EXTRA draws which will provide 3 singles matches. Due to byes, etc. the scheduling of these is a little crazy. The EXTRA draws will be played on Sunday. Make sure that you do not leave the tournament without checking with the tournament desk, even if you have lost twice.
6. All singles matches will be a third set match tiebreaker. This includes Main Draw matches.
7. Due to the fact only one site has lights, we will be using The Tennis Club at Springhurst indoor courts for some backdraw and extra draw matches.
8. WEATHER INFORMATION !! Please stay up to date with the tournament website if there is rain. We will be posting weather information on the site if there are delays due to weather. And no, we cannot move the whole tournament indoors if it rains, unless someone wants to build 35 indoor courts that we can use all day without interruption.
9. Tournament Phone Number. Since we are outdoors with the tournament, please call (502) 439-8312 or (502) 439-6160 if you have any questions, withdrawals, etc. once the tournament begins.
Thanks and see everyone this weekend !!

SELECTION PROCESS / TWO DRAWS OF 16 FOR EACH AGE GROUP
The top 32 players applying from each age group will be selected by the Southern Section office, from the latest USTA/Southern standing list -- 28 players from the age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group that have a top 40 standing and are not in the selected 28. Each group of 32 players selected from each age group will be divided into two draws of 16 each. We will be using the waterfall system to make sure each of the two 16 draws are balanced by strength.

|
SIGNING UP FOR TWO DIVISIONS
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alt. list. They would be removed from the Alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4.
