Registration will be at Old Fort Park on Fri. from 1:00-7:00. It is HIGHLY RECOMENDED that all players register on Fri. If it is impossible to do that then you should register at your site 1 hour before your first match on Sat. Medical release forms must be turned in at registration. NO BIRTH CERT. will be taken. They should go to the southern office.

Due to the fact that we are playing a 10 point tie break in lieu of third set players will be scheduled for 3 matches in 1 day in the consolation brackets.

All girls and boys 10 and unders will be played on a 60 ft. court with a 25" racquet (or smaller). They will play with orange balls. SINGLES: Players will play the best of 2 short sets. The first player to win 4 games by 2 games wins the set. If the game score is tied at 4-4, a set tiebreak (first to 7 & win by 2) is played. Regular scoring is used. A set tiebreaker will be played for the third set. The first players to win 7 points (by 2 points) wins the tiebreaker. AD SCORING. Doubles is a regular six game set will be played with a set tiebreak at 6-6(first to 7 points by 2 points) AD SCORING

A new rule regarding the set break between a second set and match tiebreak has been implemented regarding coaching. This rule is different than the 2011 rule so please read carefully. FAC Comment III.D-3: If a junior player needs a toilet/change of attire break before the start of a 10-Point Match Tiebreak, should the player take it before or after the 3-minute rest period? A junior player who needs a toilet/change of attire break should take it after the 3-minute rest period. However, a player who chooses to take a toilet/change of attire break during the 3-minute rest period waives the right to further coaching. A player has reasonable time to complete a toilet/change of attire break. Any player who does not take a toilet/change of attire break shall remain on court or in an area near the court designated by an official. No player may receive coaching during the toilet/change of attire break because coaching is limited to the 3-minute rest period. FAC Comment III.D-4: Where may coaching in a junior tournament take place during a 3-minute rest period before the start of a 10-Point Match Tiebreak? Coaching is allowed only on the court or in a designated area near the court where an official can easily time the rest period. A player may receive coaching by cell phone or other electronic device. However, a player shall turn off the phone or device at the end of the rest period.

Doubles play will begin Fri. afternoon. Singles play will begin Sat. morning. 10 and under division may be on a different schedule. They will start play on Fri afternoon also.

All main draw and back draw matches (excluding 10 and under) will play best 2 out of 3 regular sets with a 10 point tie break in lieu of a third set. All doubles matches are 8 Game Pro Sets and will be single elimination.

JUNIOR PLAYERS COMPETING IN USTA, USTA/SOUTHERN, AND USTA/TENNESSEE SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS MUST SUBMIT A SIGNED RELEASE & MEDICAL RELEASE TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR OF EACH TOURNAMENT BEFORE THE FIRST MATCH IS PLAYED. Directions from Nashville: Take I-24 to Exit 78B. Take the ramp to Old Fort (Hwy. 96) and turn right towards town. Go 1.6 miles to Old Fort Park on the left. Turn left on Golf Lane into the park. Directions from Chattanooga: Take I-24 W to Exit 78B. Take the ramp to Old Fort Pkwy. (Hwy 96) and turn right. Go 1.5 miles to Old Fort Park on the left.

MTSU courts are at the corner of Greenland Dr. and Middle Tennessee Blvd. Directions from Nashville: Take I-24 E to Murfreesboro Exit 78B onto 96E/Old Fort Parkway. Go 3.3 miles (road name will change to Memorial after crossing Broad St.) Continue to right on E. Clark Blvd. Go 1.4 miles to Greenland Dr. and take a left. Turn into the parking lot on the right. Directions from Chattanooga: Take I-24 W to Murfreesboro Exit 81 onto US231N/TN10N/ Church St. Go 1.3 miles toward Murfreesboro on Church and take a right on Middle Tennessee Blvd. Go 2.6 miles and you will see courts on the right. Turn right on Greenland Dr. and park in the lot on the right.

Each team/participant should call the hotel of their choice from the list below to make their reservation-ask for the "Tennessee State Junior Qualifier" block. The reservations must be made by Tuesday, May 15, 2012--after that time the blocks will be dropped. However, in order to get a specific hotel, it would be a good idea to make reservations as soon as possible, as the blocked rooms will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
