Welcome to our 8th Annual Salisbury Parks & Recreation Kiwanis Junior Open tennis tournament! We hope that you will enjoy your time and stay in beautiful Historic Salisbury for the weekend. Directions To Tournament Main Site
MAIN SITE: City Park Tennis Complex - W. Miller Street, Salisbury, NC. 28144 I-85 Traveling South to Salisbury Take Exit 76 and turn right on East Innes Street. Continue straight through downtown Salisbury approximately one (1) mile after exiting highway. Turn right onto Fulton Street. Stay straight on Fulton Street until you end at Lake Drive. Turn right on Lake Drive, then left on Jackson Street, then left onto W. Miller Street. City Park Tennis Complex will be on your left. I-85 Traveling North to Salisbury Take Exit 76 and turn left on East Innes Street. Follow the same directions above from this point. You may also take Exit 75. Turn left onton Jake Alexander Blvd. and go to the second stop light and turn right onto Klumac Road. Stay straight and Klumac will change to Fulton Street. Once on Fulton Street, follow same directions as above. Directions/Map to our secondary site (Catawba College) will be provided for your convenience upon check in at the Main Site (City Park). Please remember to check in early to avoid travel and tournament match delays. We will also provide a Salisbury Area Restaurant Guide with over 60 restaurants to choose from.

Registration and Tournament Times
If you are considering entering our tournament, please ensure that both you and/or your parents are available for the full duration of the tournament, Friday-Sunday, June 15-17. We anticipate first round matches to begin around 3:00 p.m Friday afteroon to stay ahead of any possible afternoon thunderstorms or an extreme number of tournament entries. Saturday and Sunday morning matches will begin no earlier than 8:00 a.m. REMINDER TO PARENTS: Please remember to check the tournament draws online each night to ensure that you know your child's next match time and location the following day. We will update the tournament draw during the evening hours for your convenience. Tournament draws will be posted online Wednesday, June 13 by 8:00 p.m. barring any unforseen complications.

Withdrawals
If you need to Withdraw before entries close, you must do so online. Click on "Edit Registration", then "Withdraw." You will need your original confirmation number. All withdrawals after entries close must both be sent in writing by e-mail to tmcca@salisburync.gov and by phone to tournament site once the tournament has started. Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

Medical Release Form and Parent/Participant Behavior Code Form
The Medical Release Form & Parent/Participant Behavior Code Form is required by USTA Southern Section. These forms must be signed by a parent or quardian. Please be sure to provide a telephone number where you can be reached during the tournament. A signed form is extremely important in the event your child may need emergency medical assistance and you are not at the court site. Please follow the link, download and bring with you upon check in at the Main Site (City Park Tennis Complex). No player will be allowed on court without this form.

Check In / Hydration / Tents
Players are reminded to check in before your first match at City Park Tennis Complex located at W. Miller Street, Salisbury, NC. Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes early before each match unless otherwise notified by the tournament staff. Our tournament committee cannot stress enough the importance of staying hydrated with water and/or gatorade throughout the weekend. This goes for players, parents and spectators. Temperatures during this time of year can reach into the 90's. Parents may bring chair umbrellas or tents to set up at either site. However, please be aware and courteous of where you set up and you will need to break down tents each day before you leave

Scoring Format for All Divisions
All boys/girls 10's will play the Quick Start format on 60'x21' courts. Please remember no racquets larger than 25". Scoring will be 2 out of 3 short sets (first to win 4 games). A 7 point tiebreak will be played for the 3rd set.
B/G 12's, 14's, 16's, 18's- A 10 point tiebreak will be played in lieu of 3rd set.

Matches played with Tiebreak in Lieu of 3rd Set
A 3-minute Set Break will be taken after splitting sets. During this break the players may receive coaching on court. Players are not permitted to leave the court except for a legitimate toilet/change of attire break. A player taking a toilet/change of attire break, for which "reasonable time" is allowed (see court official FIRST), may receive coaching during that break. A player remaining on court while the opponent takes a toilet/change of attire break may receive coaching until their opponent returns. Cell phones may be used by players on court to receive coaching during the break. A player taking a toilet/change of attire break may also use a cell phone to receive coaching. Cell phones must be turned off at the end of the 3-minute set break.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, June 11, 2012 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
