SEEDING CRITERIA
USTA North Carolina Level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Tournaments
SINGLES SEEDING CRITERIA
Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA North Carolina Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.
Definition of Most Recently Published USTA North Carolina Combined Standings Lists:
NC Level 1, 2 and 3* Published List used for selections and seeding done with most recent before tournament start.
In addition to the list, other criteria to consider:
• Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 10 of the most recently published USTA North Carolina Combined Standings Lists of any younger age division.
• Players with current top 25 in USTA/Southern, top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.
DOUBLES SEEDING CRITERIA
• Teams shall be seeded in the order of their combined standings (e.g., Player A holds the #1 standing and Player B holds the #10 standing. The Team of A & B would have combined standing of 11.) Teams that have the same combined standing shall be seeded in the order of the total number of Ranking points held by each team.
• Players with current top 25 in USTA/Southern, top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA rankings should be considered for seeding.

Format & Scoring:
Draws will be a Full Feed-In through the Quarters with a ¾ playoff. Main draw and consolation will play the best of three sets playing a 10 point match tiebreak for the third set.
Doubles will consist of an 8 game pro set.

Medical Release:

NCTA Rain Policy:
NCTA Rain Policy for all sanctioned tournaments
1. Any division where play has begun – no refund
2. Any division where no play has begun – a partial refund after deductions for actual
expenses.
3. All completed scores must be reported. Incomplete matches are recorded as
ABANDONED( match started but Referee decided not to complete) matches.
Matches never started are recorded as UNPLAYED
4. No tournament may reschedule without the approval of the S & S Committee.
5. If a tournament is unable to complete the tournament within the sanctioned dates,
no extensions will be allowed. The tournament will be over.
6. It is at the discretion of the tournament committee if the entire tournament is canceled
due to inclement weather.
7. Check the alternate scoring methods for inclement weather
8. Notify the NCTA of a cancellation.
9. Head tax is charged for any divisions where play has begun
10. COMMUNICATE with players or parents

10's Scoring:
•For all North Carolina 10 and under, Level 1-5 tournament play, the required scoring format, for singles shall be the best of 2 short sets (first to 4 and win by 2), with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two (2) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to 7 and win by 2) for the third set. AD SCORING. One hour rest between matches.
•Doubles matches for 10 and under tournament play shall consist of a regular six (6) game set with a set tiebreak first to seven (7) and win by 2) at 6-6. AD SCORING. 15 minute rest between matches.
• In case of inclement weather, singles play shall consist of one regular six (6) game set with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by 2) at 6-6 . AD SCORING. 30 minute rest between matches.

Sportsmanship awards:
A sportsmanship award will be presented to a boy and girl. Officials and players may nominate. Please turn in your nomination at Hanes Park by Sunday April 22nd 12:00 pm.

Withdrawals:
Withdrawals prior to the entry deadline is the player's responsibility using TennisLink online. Anyone who withdraws after the close of registration should email cjltennis@bellsouth.net stating name, division, USTA number, and reason for withdrawal.
|

First Match Times:
It is the responsibility of the players to verify their match time as match times and locations are subject to change. Please check the draws again on Thursday evening to insure that you arrive on time for your first match on Friday.

|
3 minute rest period:
The 3 minute rest period is taken with a match tie break in lieu of the third set format. The 3 minute rest period begins at the end of the second set and should be timed by the official. Players must remain on court or in an area adjacent to the court where coaching is permitted. A toilet break/change of attire may be taken at the conclusion of the 3 minute rest period. A player choosing to take a toilet/change of attire break during the 3 minute rest period waives the right to further coaching. A player who is not ready to play or returns late after a 3 minute rest break would receive a time violation. Should yet an additional 20 seconds pass without the player being ready, a code violation for delay of game would be issued.

Right on First St. and continue thru Northwest Blvd. Get in far right lane at major intersection and go strait thru light. You are now on Country Club Rd. Remain on Country Club Rd approx 2-3 miles. Entrance is on the right.
Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) (601 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27110) Right on Sunset out of Hanes Park parking lot. Right on Glade. At traffic light take left on Hawthorne . Remain on Hawthorne, cross First St., go under bridge and take immediate left onto Lockland Ave. Take I-40 Business East to Exit 6A (US 52/311 South -Lexington). Exit immediately at Exit 108C Winston-Salem State University. Take left onto Stadium Dr (Ram). Take right onto Martin Luther King Blvd. Take right at Reynolds Park Blvd stop light (Anderson Center entrance).
South Fork Recreation Center (SF) (4403 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104) Right on Sunset out of Hanes Park parking lot. Right on Glade. At traffic light take left on Hawthorne. Right on Cloverdale. Right on First St. and continue thru Northwest Blvd. Get in far right lane at major intersection and go strait thru light. You are now on Country Club Rd. Remain on Country Club Rd thru a traffic light at Westview, another light at Silas Creek, and another light at Gordon Dr. Continue for approx. 1/2 mile and South Fork Recreation Center will be on your right.
Parkland (PHS) (1600 Brewer Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27127) Right on Sunset out of Hanes Park parking lot. Right on Glade. At traffic light take left on Hawthorne. Take right on Cloverdale to I-40 Business East ramp. Take I-40 Business East to Peters Creek Parkway. Remain on Peters Creek Parkway to Brewer Rd. Turn left on Brewer. Continue on Brewer and bear right courts on your left.
Miller Park (MILL) (400 Leisure Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103) Right on Sunset out of Hanes Park parking lot. Right on Glade. At traffic light take left on Hawthorne. Continue on Hawthorne Rd. to Elizabeth Ave. Right on Elizabeth Ave. Continue on Elizabeth Ave until it dead ends at the courts.
Shaffner Park (SHAF) (865 Yorkshire Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106) Right on Sunset out of Hanes Park parking lot. Right on Glade. At traffic light take right on Hawthorne. Take right on Northwest Blvd. Turn left onto Reynolda Rd. Continue on Reynolda and take left on Robinhood Rd. Continue on Robinhood Rd. to Wellington Rd. Left on Wellington. Right on Yorkshire. Continue on Yorkshire until you see the courts on the left (behind row of pine trees).
