Traffic
Please note that traffic congestion is not considered a viable excuse as far as the USTA is concerned for late match arrivals.
From the NC DOT:
Starting Thursday, October 11th, 2012, through Sunday, October 21st, 2012, motorists should expect heavy congestion on roads in the Raleigh area due to State Fair traffic.
Roads expected to be affected include I-40 and I-440 approaching Wade Avenue, Blue Ridge Road, Edwards Mill Road, Trinity Road, Wade Avenue, NC-54, and Hillsborough Street in the vicinity of the Fairgrounds. Congestion on these roadways is expected to be at their highest during the evening when special events at the fair are expected to draw larger crowds.
Motorists not attending the event are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes away from the state fairgrounds if possible. Those attending the fair are advised to carpool, drive with caution, and obey all signs and law enforcement officials.
