ENTRIES and DEADLINE:
Entries will be done through the on-line tennislink registration system at www.USTA.com. Registration is open to all eligible USTA members. Entries must be submitted by April 24 for SINGLES and DOUBLES. Only USTA members can register online if available. The final selection of entries will be made by the ASI tournament committee. The online DEADLINE for entries will be Tuesday, APRIL 24, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. If you are interested in playing DOUBLES please sign up and pay for doubles and you can sign up with your doubles partner by Tuesday, May 1 at 8 p.m. by emailing or contacting Beth. AGE GROUPS:
The age groups for the men's events will be: 30sd, 35sd, 40sd, 45sd, 50sd, 55sd, 60sd, 65sd, 70sd and 75sd.
There is a father/son open division this year.

EVENTS:
Players may ONLY enter two events, but may ONLY play in one singles event. Players are asked to play in their appropriate age group. A player is eligible for specified divisions provided he attains that age by December 31, 2012.

ENTRY FEE:
First event fee is: $91.88 per player singles OR doubles--- Second event fee is $65.00 per player.
NOTE: You are charged a processing fee by the USTA that has been added to the entry fees.
IF you are put into the tournament AFTER the online deadline for singles or doubles - the ENTRY FEE will be $91.88 for the first event and $65.00 for the second event. (This is for the entry plus the processing fee)

DRAWS, TIMES, and LOCATIONS
The 30's and 35's singles will not be begin before 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 3rd if more than a 8 draw and if 8 or less will begin Friday. The 70s and 75s will not begin until 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3rd unless there are more than 16 in the draw and then there may be some preliminary matches on Wednesday. Some Doubles (Not the 30s, 35s, or Father-Son) will start on Thursday starting as early as noon. Please register at Cherokee before your first match. The 30s, 35s, and Father-Son doubles will not begin until Friday afternoon or Saturday depending on the size of the draw.

Some matches will begin on Wednesday due to the number of players in the age group.

Father-Son Event
The Father-Son Event will not begin until after 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 4. The scoring format for the father son event will be 2 out of 3 sets and a match Tie-Break in lieu of the third set.Sign up for the Father-Son can be done until Wednesday, May 2 at noon. Contact Beth at bclay@cherokeetcc.org if you are interested in the Father- Son event even as a third event.

Doubles Deadline
Please pay for doubles through the online registration date of April 24 for Doubles . You can sign up with your partner by Tuesday, May 1 at 5:00 p.m. by contacting BETH at bclay@cherokeetcc.org. If you DO NOT find a partner the tournament will refund your portion of the tournament entry fee. If you would like us to list you on the tournament website as looking for a partner please let Beth know. If the event is full you will go on the wait list for doubles.

Tournament Selection
Players must register using the USTA online registration system. Tournament matches begin on Wednesday except for the 30s, 35s, 70s, 75s and Father-Son divisions. Tennis ATTIRE
TENNIS ATTIRE: ALL players will be required to wear collared tennis shirts. NO T-shirts or sleeveless shirts will be allowed on the court for practice or play. Tennis attire/shoes will be expected for play.

NOTE: 30s and 35s DRAWS

3rd and 4th Playoff
REMEMBER there are 3-4 playoffs in all events. If you lost in the semis make sure you check the 3-4 match time or let Beth know if you will not be playing.

Balls and Scoring
The Wilson US OPEN regular felt ball will be used. Scoring for all matches will be 2 out of 3 regular set scoring( new balls used for third set) and a 7- point tie break used in any set at 6 all. **The Tournament Committee reserves the right to change scoring in case of inclement weather. The Point Penalty system will be enforced. Roving umpires will be on site at all times.

WAIVER:
All players are required to sign a waiver of liability before play.
|
|
Court Surface and Inclement Weather:
Events are scheduled to be on clay. Events, as required due to inclement weather, may be played at night, on hard courts and/or indoors at available facilities.
|
|
SEEDING:
Seeding will be posted for each of the age groups for player input. The seeds can be accessed by clicking on COMPETITORS and then selecting the event you are interested in. USTA Seeding Regulations will be considered - Please go to USTA.com to complete the players survey as this may determine how seedings are done in the future for Category I and Category II events.

This is a been designated a "Super" CATEGORY II National
Tournament and a prize money tournament. The ASI tournament is May
2 - 6. Deadline: April 24, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Players for the
tournament are limited due to hosting nine age
divisions(M30sd-75sd) plus the father-son open event, limited play
time and court availability and it is requested that players play
in their respective age group. If your age group is full, the
tournament committee will check for slots in a lower age group.
Players are expected to register on-line and players will be
selected by the ASI tournament selection committee and competitors
will be posted by April 30.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
