Welcome to the first SC State Junior Tennis Championship of 2012. Play is open to players from any Section or State. SC Level 2 and Southern Level 4 Tournament. Singles and Doubles.

LUNCH TODAY
SUNDAY LUNCH will also be provided today for all players at the Main Site. Groucho's Deli will be set up on the back patio at the Rock Hill Tennis Center (RHTC). Please come to the registration desk inside the building to get your ticket for lunch. (Reigstration is where you got your sweatshirt). Guest may choose from a menu for $5.00 - $7.00.

REGISTRATION
Registration will be open beginning at 3:00 PM at the main site, Rock Hill Tennis Center (RHTC) and remain open until the Tennis Center closes. You can register one hour before your match. We prefer that you register before your first match. We need to make sure we have a medical release and contact phone numbers to reach you during the weekend. If you are short on time, please go directly to your first match site. We prefer you to fax in your medical release before Friday (#803-326-3840). All late entry players must call the tennis center with their credit card payments before Friday.

MEDICAL RELEASE
Please print, sign, and bring with you at check-in. All players & parents will be required to sign the form before the player will be allowed to compete in the tournament. By bringing this form with you will save sometime at check-in. Thanks.

10 and Under Ages/font>
All 10 and Under Age divisions will not start play until Saturday morning. They will play all of their matches at the Rock Hill High School (RHS). There next match times will be given out at the site. We will play as many singles and doubles as they are allowed in the B 10s, but it is a large draw. Some play may have to continue on Sunday. Scoring format and additional info is listed below in another message.

10 and Under Ages
As regulated since 2011 Nationally, all play in the 10 and Under Age Division will be on Quick Start courts. All play in the 10's will play on 60ft court using Orange Low Compression balls and 25" racquets. (We will measure all racquets to ensure compliance with this National Regulation). The scoring format will be as follows: best of 2 Short Sets (first to four and win by two), with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) for the third.
Doubles matches shall consist of a regular six (6) game set, with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) at 6-6 ro short sets, as detailed above in singles play. (We will determine this based on the size of the draws).

ALTERNATE SITES
We will be using additional sites for the tournament. We will be using the Rock Hill Tennis Center (RHTC) as our main site. We will also be using NorthWestern High School (NWES), Winthrop University (WINT) and a third site TBD. Directions and physical addresses are available below in seperate messages and at the tennis center.

MAIN SITE ( RHTC)
MAIN SITE: RHTC: ROCK HILL TENNIS CENTER: 897 Maplewood Lane, Rock Hill, SC 29730 From I-77 North/South: Take Exit 82 B towards Rock Hill. Turn onto Cherry Road heading west. Continue on Cherry Road for 1 1/4 miles through 5-6 traffic lights. Tennis Center will be on your left. If you have come to Cherry Park or to Blockbuster you have gone to far. CiCi-s Pizza & TCBY are across the street, Little Caesar's Pizza, Penn Station, & Family Dollar are a block just before the center on the same side of the street. Call (803)-326-3842 if you need help. From I-85 take Route #5 or Route 161 towards Rock Hill/York, do not go all the way to Charlotte. Follow Route #5 into Rock Hill & turn left onto Cherry Road. Continue on Cherry Road for 2.1 miles and the tennis center will be on your right.

WINTHROP (WINT)
WINT: WINTHROP COLLEGE: (10 Minutes from Main Site) Directions from the Rock Hill Tennis Center to Winthrop Memorial Tennis Courts. 1162 Eden Terrace, Rock Hill, SC 29730
From tennis center main (lower) parking lot turn right out of parking lot to Eden Terrace at stop sign. Go through 1 stoplight and continue approx 1/2 mile. Turn left into Winthrop University and tennis courts are located there.
From tennis center upper parking lot, turn right onto Eden Terrace. Go through 1 stoplight and continue approx 1/2 mile. Turn left into Winthrop University and tennis courts are located there.
Winthrop Park Hitting Wall is located across the street from the Tennis Complex. You will have to turn left out of Winthrop coliseum onto Eden Terrace and then immediately right into the Winthrop park.

ROCK HILL HIGH (RHS)
RHS: ROCK HILL HIGH SCHOOL (20 minutes appx from Main Site) Site Directions from the Rock Hill Tennis Center to Rock Hill High School
320 W. Springdale Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730
1. Take a left out of the main (lower) parking lot
2. Take 1st right onto Cherry Road
3. Take 1st right onto Mt Gallant Rd (Little Caesars pizza is on the right)
4. Turn right onto Anderson Rd N at the traffic light by Auto Sale Car
5. Once you drive for a few miles….Attention! keep going straight through the red stop sign to keep on Anderson rd
6. Keep going on Anderson road and you will see the Rock Hill High School sign.
7. Turn right onto Leslie Hwy by BP Gas Station
8. Turn right onto Springdale Rd
9. Turn right onto Rock Hill High School

NORTHWESTERN (NW)
NW: NORTHWESTERN HIGH SCHOOL SITE (15 Minutes appx from Main Site) is located at 2503 West Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29732-8961. This site is appx 15 minutes drive from the main site. From RHTC: Turn left onto Cherry Rd and travel 2.8 miles to Main St/SC Hwy 5. Turn right on Main St/SC Hwy5 travel 2.6 miles. Go past high school then turn left at light and continue around to the back side of school. Follow the traffic circle around to the left and you will see the courts ahead on your right.

SEEDING
SEEDS are now posted in Singles and Doubles. If you have any questions, please contact the Referee. Seeding will be done using USTA Regulations and following the 2012 USTA South Carolina Seeding Policy. Players who have a standing in the next younger age division may be seeded in any group of seeds if they are in the top 50 of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standing Lists ( STA List published 1-10-2012) of any younger age division. Southern Standing in the top 200 – may be given consideration for seeding. National Standing in the top 400 – may be given consideration for seeding. Out of State players with a Sectional standing up to 200 may be given consideration for seeding.

The Point Penalty System will be in affect for all play.

DOUBLES POINTS INCREASED IN SOUTH CAROLINA
All SC Players need to play doubles. Points earned for Doubles HAVE BEEN RAISED in South Carolina to 25%. The State Rankings will be calculated as follows: 100% of singles points from a player's best six singles tournaments plus 25% of the doubles points from a player's best six doubles tournaments. The points earned in doubles do not have to be from the same six tournaments that points are earned in singles.

DOUBLES
If you need help finding a doubles partner, please email the Tournament Referee (msrabb@aol.com) to request your name be placed on the web site. You can also send your contact information to be shared with other players seeking partners. We need to at least know if you are interested in playing by Sunday night, January 8th. First Match Times must be posted by Wednesday afternoon, so we need doubles partners decided as soon as possible. Please do not wait, it takes time to contact a partner. Email us immediately and we will forward your information to players you are interested in playing with. PARKING at RHTC
IMPORTANT!!! There are additional parking spots behind the tennis center at Sullivan Middle School. We have only 35 spots at the bottom of the hill of the tennis center, with an additional 200 spots behind the courts at the middle school. DIRECTIONS: When you turn left/right onto Maplewood Lane. from Cherry Road, do not turn into the parking lot of the center, continue straight on Maplewood Lane. for 1/8 of a mile, then turn right onto Eden Terrace and then a quick right into the middle school lot by the tennis courts.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
We will be giving out a Girls and Boys sportsmanship award this weekend. Please feel free to share any stories you have witnessed over the weekend of a player showing exemplary good sportsmanship with an official or the Tournament Referee.

MATCH PLAY FORMAT
All Main Draw and Consolation matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets with a match tie break in lieu of a 3rd set, if necessary. Consolation is a First Match Losers Consolation. There will be a playoff for 3rd and 4th place in the main draw (12's - 18's age diviisions). Doubles will use an 8-game pro set and will be single elimination. Draws are limited at 64 players.

We also have a small concession area that provides snacks, sodas, bottled water & powerade to our customers. INCLEMENT WEATHER
The Referee reserves the right to make any changes in match play format due to inclement weather, inlcluding play on Monday. (Monday may also need to be used for extremely large draws).

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
