From Family Circle Tennis Center, turn left onto Seven Farms Drive. Go ¼ mile to the stoplight and make a right hand turn onto River Landing Drive. This road will take you onto I-526 going east. Go 3 miles and take the Long Point exit. Make a left at the light. Go to the 4th stop light (1/2 mile) and turn right onto Whipple Road. Continue straight turning right at 2nd traffic light onto Mathis Ferry Road. Live to Play will be on the left.

With the weather approaching, we have added Wild Dunes Tennis Center to our Site list. The Girls 18s will play their early rounds at Wild Dunes (DUNES).

WILD DUNES DIRECTIONS
Allow 30 minutes driving time from FCTC to Wild Dunes Tennis Center. Wild Dunes Tennis Center is located at 5757 Palm Boulevard on Isle of Palms. From FCTC, take a left out of parking lot onto Seven Farms Drive. Take a right at the first stop light onto Daniel Island Drive (ramp to 526 East). Take the second exit which is Highway 17 North towards Georgetown. At the traffic light, turn left onto 17 North. Continue about 2 miles (just past the Towne Center) and make a right onto the Isle of Palms Connector. At the third light, take a left on Palm Boulevard (Hwy 703 - You are now on the Isle of Palms.) Continuing straight through the S curve on Palm Blvd., approximately 2 miles down the road, turn right at the stop sign (still Palm Boulevard). The entrance to Wild Dunes Resort will be on the left. Turn in and stop at the gate and let the guard know you are going to the Tennis Center. Take the first right after the gate. Tennis Center is on the left.

Boys 12s Seeding
The Boys 12s Red Group has been reseeded. I used the seeding calculator in this event and I should not have. The new seeds are in place.

SEEDING
The Southern Seeding Calculator was not taken into consideration when seeds were posted on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. New seeds are now posted. The process is as follows: 1) Southern provides a selection list with the top 32 applicants in rank order. 2) This applicant list of 32 players is then waterfalled. 3) Each group of 16 players is then seeded.

Alternates # 1 - 5 in each division should email nancy.heinz@familycirclecup.com current cell phone number and email address so that if an opening occurs in your division we can contact you directly after the draws have been posted.
The Alternates by Event Report will be updated daily. Contact us immediately to be removed from the list. It is the alternate's responsibility to check the website to see if alternate status has changed. Please provide current contact information during online registration. Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately. (Payments are not made online for alternates). On site Alternates must register one-half hour prior to Saturday's first match at their division's site tournament desk. On site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. On site Alternates should be on-site when their age and gender check in for play for the first round.

PLAYER FIRST MATCH CHECK-IN
All players must initially check in at the Family Circle Tennis Center at least one half hour PRIOR to their first scheduled match. First matches will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday morning. Early check-in is encouraged and will be available on Friday, February 17th from 3:00 pm until 7:30 pm. If you do not arrive on Friday before 7:30 pm, you MUST check in at Family Circle Tennis Center at least one half hour prior to your first match. After initial check-in, all players should report directly to designated sites for scheduled matches. MANDATORY USTA and FAMILY CIRCLE TENNIS CENTER RELEASE forms must be signed by each player's parent/guardian prior to first match.

The 2003 French Open Men's Doubles Champion, head coach of the World TeamTennis Washington Kastles, and the 2012 Family Circle Cup emcee Murphy Jensen arrives on Saturday, igniting his passion for life with a fun-filled tennis activity for Dunlop Junior Tennis Championship players on Saturday afternoon on Stadium Court. Murphy currently hosts "Open Access" and "Murphy's Guide" on the Tennis Channel as he brings his viewers inside the game of tennis. WILD CARD INTO THE 2012 FAMILY CIRCLE CUP QUALIFYING DRAW
The Family Circle Cup has long been recognized as a professional event where young stars make their mark and what better opportunity for a young girl than to experience the thrill of playing in one of the top pro events on the women's tour. That is exactly what will happen to the winner of the Girls' 18s Singles when she receives a wild card into the 2012 Family Circle Cup qualifying draw held Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1st. She will get her chance to make her own mark on a tournament where legends abound and new ones can suddenly be born. Congratulations to our previous Girls' 18s Singles Champions: Josie Kuhlman (2011), Shelby Rogers (2010), Alison Riske (2009), Mallory Cecil (2008), Nina Pantic (2006 & 2007), Inga Beernann (2005), Katrina Tsang (2004), and Shadisha Robinson (2003).

GIRLS 18s SELECTION, SEEDING, FORMAT, AND SCORING
Selection and Seeding will be determined based on current ITF, National, then Regional rankings for the Girls 18s draw. 64 players will be selected with a full feed in Consolation through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. The best two out of three sets with a ten point tiebreak in lieu of a third set will be played. Final rounds will be completed on MONDAY, February 20.

New STA LEVEL 3 Tournament Format
As of Jan. 2012 all USTA Southern Junior Level 3 tournaments will be following the following format unless specifically state on their tournament web site. Highlights of the New Format are as follows:
ALL LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENTS WILL BE HELD OVER A TWO DAY PERIOD (SATURDAY AND SUNDAY) UNLESS APPROVED BY THE STA.
1. All tournaments shall have two 16 balanced draws in each age division.
2. Two 16 draws will be determined by use of the waterfall system.
3. Format: Will be a feed in with an independent draw for the losers of the first feed in match. This will guarantee three matches.
4. If number of participants goes under 24 (23 and under), one draw will be used instead.
5. Format will remain the same for all Level 3 events. The only change will be for an Indoor event which will be able to add one day.
6. Seeding shall follow the USTA Southern Section seeding regulations. Players selected on their 10’s standing shall not be considered for seeding in the 12’s division.
7. Scoring: Tie Break in lieu of the third set shall be used in all matches. Short scoring: No ad scoring or “Short” sets, first player/team to win four games wins the set provided there is a two game margin over the opponent(s), may be used due to inclement weather. Before changing format due to inclement weather, this must be approved by Section and State.
8. 10's will play on 60ft court using Orange Low Compression balls and 25" racquets Scoring: TBD 8's will play on 36ft court using Red Low Compression balls and 23" racquets
9. NEW LEVEL 3 POINTS TABLE: More points for Level 3 tournaments.
10. With the smaller draws, more players will receive more points.

PLAYER LUNCH ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18 - CHICK-FIL-A NORTH MT. PLEASANT

PLAYING FORMAT AND SCORING
32 players will be selected for each event (see selection process headlines) and then be split into two Draws of 16 players using the Waterfall System for selection (see Waterfall Headline), with a full feed in Consolation through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. The best two out of three sets with a ten point tiebreak in lieu of a third set will be played for all Boys' 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s and Girls' 12s, 14s, and 16s matches.
Players eligible for Girls 16s are limited to entering either the Girls 16s OR Girls 18s division, but NOT both due to the level each of these divisions are sanctioned. Girls' 18s will be open to all national, regional, and state level players and have a draw size of 64. Full feed in Consolation through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff with the best two out of three sets with a ten point tiebreak in lieu of a third set will be played. Final rounds will be completed on MONDAY, February 20.
In the event of inclement weather, match format is subject to change.

BOYS AND GIRLS 10s FORMAT AND SCORING
For Boys and Girls 10 and under, the required scoring format for singles shall be the best of two short sets (first to four and win by two), with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) for the third. They will play on a court size of 60 feet with orange low compression balls. Players must use 25" junior racquets.

BOYS and GIRLS 8s FORMAT AND SCORING
Boys and Girls 8 and under will play on a court size of 36 feet with red low compression balls using 23" junior racquets. There are only 7 points in a game. Kids play the best of 3 games. The first to score 7 points wins the game. The first to win 2 games wins the match. If players split games, an additional game to 7 points is played.

SELECTION PROCESS
Because this is a Level 3 STA Event the following Selection Process is being used: Top 32 players applying from the USTA/Southern latest standings list. For Boys and Girls 12-18: 28 players from this age group will be selected and up to 4 players from the younger age group who are eligible from the younger age group, who have a standing in the top 40 of the younger age group, and are not in the selected 28, will be selected. The names of the player who have been selected will appear as competitors. Aternates are listed in the report section. Do not refer to the alternates on the far left side of the web page after competitors have been listed. (That list is not updated).
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division.They are removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates' lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the alternates' list. They would be removed from the alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division woud be removed from the alternates' list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

WATERFALL SYSTEM FOR SPLITTING COMPETITORS
The players will be ordered using current standings and players from the younger age group that met the seeding requirements put in their place. The 32 players will be split as follows:
Red 1,4,5, 8,9,12,13,16,17,20,21,24,25,28,29,32
Blue 2,3, 6,7,10,11,14,15,18,19,22,23,26,27,30,31

SITES AND SURFACES
All sites are subject to change based on draw size and in case of inclement weather.
Boys and Girls 16s and 18s will be played on clay courts, primarily at the Family Circle Tennis Center(FCTC) and the Daniel Island Club (DIC) and as needed at Snee Farm (snee).
Boys and Girls 12s will be played on hard courts at College of Charleston (CofC).
Boys and Girls 14s will be played on hard courts at Mount Pleasant Rec on Whipple Rd (Whip).
Boys and Girls 10s will be played on hard courts at FCTC and as needed at DIC.
Boys and Girls 8s will be played on the Lucy Garvin QuickStart hard courts at FCTC.
The Family Circle Tennis Center is located at 161 Seven Farms Drive on Daniel Island. The Daniel Island Club Tennis Pavilion is located at 715 Island Park Drive on Daniel Island. The College of Charleston Tennis Center is located on Patriots Point Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant. Mt. Pleasant Rec is located at the Kerr Tennis Center at 889 Whipple Road in Mt. Pleasant. Directions to all sites will be available at check-in registration.

COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON TENNIS COMPLEX AT PATRIOTS' POINT DIRECTIONS
From Family Circle Tennis Center, turn left onto Seven Farms Drive. Go ¼ mile to stop light and make a right hand turn onto River Landing Drive. This road will take you onto I526 going east. Take I526 to the very end (approximately 6 miles) and the road turns into Chuck Dawley Blvd. Take this road for about 1 mile and you will come to an intersection. Turn to the right and merge onto Coleman Blvd. Go thru the next five lights (2-3 miles) and make a left hand turn at the 6th light onto Patriots Point Road. You are entering Patriots Point. Go 1 mile and turn left into the soccer and tennis complex on your left.

WHIPPLE ROAD TENNIS COMPLEX DIRECTIONS
From Family Circle Tennis Center, turn left onto Seven Farms Drive. Go ¼ mile to the stoplight and make a right hand turn onto River Landing Drive. This road will take you onto I-526 going east. Go 3 miles and take the Long Point exit. Make a left at the light. Go to the 4th stop light (1/2 mile) and turn right onto Whipple Road. Go ¼ mile from the light and turn right into Whipple Road Tennis Complex.

DANIEL ISLAND CLUB DIRECTIONS
From the Family Circle Tennis Center parking lot, you turn right. Go about a 1/8 of a mile and make your next right turn at the light onto Island Park Drive. Go straight through two round-abouts. Take next right into the Park Club. Tennis courts on your left.

Daniel Island Club Dress Code
Proper tennis attire is required. If you are scheduled for matches at the DI Club, you cannot wear a cotton tee shirt on the tennis courts. Dry fit crew neck and collared tennis shirts are allowed. No outside food is allowed.

SNEE FARM COUNTRY CLUB DIRECTIONS
From Family Circle Tennis Center, turn left onto Seven Farms Drive. Go ¼ mile to the stoplight and make a right hand turn onto River Landing Drive. This road will take you onto I-526 going east. Go 3 miles and take the Long Point exit. Make a left at the light. Go through 4 lights and continue straight for approximately 1.5 miles. Make right at light onto HWY 17. Go 1 mile through one and make a right turn into Snee Farm Country Club. You will run into a round-about take 2nd right and quick left, you will see tennis courts straight ahead.

3 MINUTE REST PERIOD
The 3 minute rest period is taken with a match tie break in lieu of the third set format. The 3 minute rest period begins at the end of the second set and should be timed by the official. Players must remain on court or in an area adjacent to the court where coaching is permitted. A toilet break/change of attire may be taken at the conclusion of the 3 minute rest period. A player choosing to take a toilet/change of attire break during the 3 minute rest period waives the right to further coaching. A player who is not ready to play or returns late after a 3 minute rest break would receive a time violation. Should yet an additional 20 seconds pass without the player being ready, a code violation for delay of game would be issued.

10:40 am SUNDAY UPDATE
Due to weather, Boys 16s, Boys 18s, and Girls 16s will change surfaces and will now play on HARD courts. Matches on court suspended due to rain on Saturday night will resume on the same surface. Every player should check for SITE and TIME changes. Since every match must be rescheduled the earliest that the NEW times will be available is 12:30 pm for 2:00 pm match start times. Our goal is to complete at least one round (both MAIN and CONSOLATION) beginning with BG 10s BG12s followed by BG14s, then BG16s, then B18s. All BLUE draws (dependent draws - players who have already lost two matches) are cancelled. G18s will play on CLAY at FCTC. We expect to have six clay courts playable. It will be a long day of play for the G18s.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament. If you enter this tournament and are not eligible, any refund is as the discretion of the Tournament Director. Only USTA members can register online if available.
