Statement from Southern and LTA
USTA Southern and USTA LA were in contact with the tournament director, Johnny Wahlborg, throughout this past weekend’s event. USTA Southern and USTA LA recommended that they try to play the event instead of cancelling the tournament. We are very sorry for the frustration due to the inclement weather. We appreciate your input and will share with our respective junior competition committees for consideration in future events.
Regarding refunds, tournament fees are non-refundable unless the withdrawal is done by the process described on the tournament website 7 days prior to the start of the tournament. This is stated in the Friend at Court and is the same rule for all Southern and Louisiana Tournaments.

Scores / Match Results
Thanks for those who did stick around and played through the night. We played over 100 matches on court on Sunday. We were constantly in contact with Southern, the LTA, and the tournament staff to discuss the best decision regarding play as a group. In the end, the right decision was made and we got many matches in. We also received many emails thanking the tournament staff for staying around so late just so the kids can play their matches and sticking it out all weekend with the weather.
We are now done completely getting all the scores updated. If you see something not filled out properly or see a score reported wrong, email jwahlborg1@gmail.com with the division and match. Thanks for everyone's patience!
If your match was not scheduled on the draw, no one is penalized for not playing it and no one advances to the next round and receives any points. If both opponents agreed to play an unscheduled match, then that is fine. It does not matter if one person wants to play and the opponent opts to not play due to whatever reason, then no one is penalized and no one moves forward on the draw or receives points for making it to the next round (since no one advances--the match wasn't played).
If you think there is something wrong about anything in the draw, email jwahlborg1@gmail.com.
Thanks for your patience this weekend and we were happy to get as much tennis as we were able to get in Sunday. We apologize if you did not get to play a match due to the way byes fell in your draw or if your opponent(s) decided to leave.

Tournament Update
9/30/12 Sunday Updates
Sun
In order to receive any more information regarding your draw, call your site desk. Do NOT rely on information on the website now. Best way will be the desk.
ATTENTION PLAYERS AT THE OAKS AT SHERWOOD: Your matches are being moved to Highland Road Park starting for 6pm. Please get there as soon as you can so we can get the matches going. We are doing our best to contact everyone to let everyone know about this change. The tournament desk number for that site is 225-505-5356
215pm
NO doubles. Doubles has been cancelled.
Matches on court will resume at 4pm at the Lamar Tennis Center and Forest Park is at 3:30 as of now. Oaks at Sherwood and Independence both resuming at 4pm. If this time changes, we will update it right here.
ATTENTION BOCAGE MATCHES: Your matches have been moved to Forest Park at 3:30. Address is below. Tournament Desk number is 318-455-2071.
Due to the craziness of the weather situation this weekend, if you are on court or scheduled to go on court today and your match has not been played yet, the LTA/STA has decided that if anyone does not want to wait around, you MUST have permission from your parents, signed by them, saying they are taking you. We will then put in the computer a "walkover" so that you are not penalized. However, if you simply leave and do not have your parents sign that they are taking you, then you WILL be penalized and will not receive a walkover in the computer.
BOCAGE matches will start at 4pm. 4 hour delay at Bocage. But show up early as matches are moving at all sites.
We also have NOT cancelled Consolation matches.
Anyone who has a second round match should still go to your site. If your match defaults, there is a chance that we can put you on if your opponent to be is in the same situation.
11am
Be at your site for 12pm. We are moving with all our matches. If you show up early, we are getting matches on. 8am matches need to be at their sites for 12. 9am matches for 1pm, 10am matches for 11, and so on. It's a 4 hour delay, so add 4 hours to your scheduled match time. Come early to your site as matches will move with No- Ad scoring and we should be able to get matches on early.
We are in constant contact with Southern and it is their recommendation that if we can play, to play. LTC Clay will be at Oaks at Sherwood with their 8am rounds starting at 12 over there.
830am
Check back at 11. We will take and assess then what the rest of the day will look like then to determine what is the right decision. Thanks.
6am
Rain Delay this morning. Call or check back at 9
9pm
We have rescheduled all the draws. We are not using Greenwood Park on Sunday. The boys divisions that were at Greenwood on Saturday will all be at Forest Park on Sunday. We will NOT play the "Extra White/Red" draws. Even though they have Sunday match times on them for now, they will not actually be played tomorrow. We basically have taken all matches from Saturday and moved them to Sunday. We do not plan on playing any of the matches originally scheduled for Sunday. Our goal is to play as many matches and rounds as we can tomorrow. We know what the weather predictions are for tomorrow and we know there are many people who are communting for this tournament. We will do the best we can to make our calls that work the best for everyone. Please check for your updated times as some lines have changed since a few matches were completed
Again, doubles will be played AFTER the singles rounds tomorrow, just like what was originally scheduled for Saturday. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter. No one likes rain delays, waiting around for 7 hours, to then get a set or 2 in to then be postponed until Sunday. You don't like it, and we don't like it. We are doing our best. Thanks for your understanding.
Since we are doing no-ad scoring Sunday, we will most likely be ahead of schedule, time-wise. So show up early to get on court early and help get the tournament rolling on Sunday.
Doubles will be played just like Saturday, after the singles matches. The Saturday times posted on the doubles draw will be the same for Sunday.
3:30pm
RAINED OUT. All matches, all sites, are postponed until tomorrow. We will post times as soon as we can. Check back tonight.
1pm
Be back to your site for 2pm! LTC Clay courts are being moved to The Oaks at Sherwood, matches will continue for 2. If you are on court, go there now and we will put you on immediately. All other clay court matches scheduled for LTC clay today will be played at Sherwood for the time being. Come early to your site to check in.
With the new start time as 2 now, simply shift your match time based on 2pm. Ex. If you are scheduled for 9, it is now for 3. Matches scheduled for 9:30 will be 3:30, etc, etc. Since we are using NO AD scoring now, matches will go quicker, so show up early to your site. Thanks
If you are scheduled for Bocage, those courts will be dry for 3pm. So the 12pm matches that start at Bocage today will now start at 3pm.
Please stay tuned to this site for all updates. Thanks!
11am
All Sites: Check back at 1pm. Clay courts at LTC, are delayed til 2pm.
10am
Greenwood: Check back at 11.
LTC: Check back at 12 or call.
Independence: Delayed until 11 for now. Check back later or call desk.
9am
It's raining. All locations are in a rain delay. We will post updates to this website. Keep checking back here or calling your site number. We will update the website again at 10am.
We are doing our best to make the right calls for this tournament. We know that no one likes to sit around and wait all day and then not play. However, we cannot predict the weather and will make the right decisions when it is time for it.
We are in constant contact with the LTA and Southern as far as what to do for this tournament. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
We are planning on playing the tournament. We will still have check in Friday night. Any updates on weather and match times will be posted on website. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
Scoring:
10 and Under will play 2 sets to 4. If score reaches 4-4 in the set, 7 pt tiebreaker will be played. If split sets, 7 pt tiebreaker for the 3rd set.
12-18 Boys and Girls will play best of 3 tiebreak sets, with a 10-point match tiebreaker for the 3rd set.
Doubles will be played AFTER the singles on Saturday and Sunday. We will update Sunday's doubles times on Saturday night.
Everyone is guaranteed 3 matches (weather permitting), and some will play 4. Simply because you have played 3 matches does not mean that you are finished with this tournament. You may have played 3, but your opponent may have only played 2 and needs their 3rd match. PLEASE double check with the desk and online to see if you have another match. Some matches are scheduled in the back draw or Extra draw. These matches are "if necessary" matches to account for anyone who did not get their 3rd match in.

MANDATORY Check-In
We will have a mandatory check in on Friday from 6-8pm at the Lamar Tennis Center. We are staying as late as 8pm for your convenience.
For those of you that simply "cannot make it" by that time, do NOT call or fax in your information. It WILL NOT be received and we will not let you step foot on the court until you have checked in properly. You will need to show up at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match time on Saturday morning. Do NOT wait until just before your match to fill out the release form and get your things and then be late checking into the tournament desk for your match. You will be put on the clock. Come early to avoid any hassle or build up in the line. Because you did not check in the night before is not a valid excuse for being late. You will be penalized.
Saturday morning check-in will be from 7:30am - 10:00am at the Lamar Tennis Center only.

Warm-Up Times and Practice Courts
The Lamar Tennis Center will open for 6:30 for warm-up Saturday and Sunday morning.
Greenwood, Independence, Forest Park will open at 7 for warm-ups.
Due to the use of many sites and an adult tennis tournament also going on this weekend, courts are limited. You can call each of these facilities to reserve a court, but you will have to pay to rent these courts as they are not a part of our tournament.

Withdrawals
If you are going to withdraw, here is all the important information you need to know
Before the singles deadline, Sunday, Sept 23, 2012 at 11:59 PM Local Time (Central Time), go to the tournament website (you are here right now) and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen, then click "WITHDRAW". If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below the "withdraw" link. We cannot withdraw you before the deadline, you must do this yourself.
If you withdraw after Sunday, Sept 23, 2012 at midnight, then you must email your withdrawal to jwahlborg1@gmail.com. DO NOT CALL TO WITHDRAW. You will receive a refund by mail after the tournament is completed. You have until Sept 24 at midnight to withdraw and still receive a refund.
If you withdraw after Monday, Sept 24 at midnight, you must email your withdrawal to jwahlborg1@gmail.com. DO NOT CALL. You will not receive a refund after this date. You have until Sept 27 at 11:59 PM to withdraw without penalty, unless you have a documented medical excuse.
If you withdraw after Thursday, Sept 27 at 11:59 PM, you must still email your withdrawal to jwahlborg1@gmail.com and you will NOT receive a refund. You must include a documented medical excuse in the email, or fax, or you will receive a penalty.
Defaulting during the tournament:
You must talk to the Head Referee at the Lamar Tennis Center (the host site). Do not tell the desk and assume you have properly defaulted. You must speak to the Head Referee in person or it will be recorded in the computers as a "No Show (ns)". If you are off-site, have the tournament desk at that location call the Head Referee to speak to him. No telephone withdrawals will be accepted. You must see the Head Referee in person. A "No Show" counts as 5 suspension points.

Alternates
It is your responsibility to notify us of your most current information by filling out the proper information at registration. We will call the phone numbers or use the emails given to us in Tennislink to notify you of an opening in the draw. We communicate by email until the tournament start is extremely close, then we will use the phone numbers in tennislink.
Ordered Alternates list:
This is the order that alternates will be placed in the draw. This report is made by the most recent southern Standings List at the time of the deadline of registration. This report will be posted after the selections have been made.
PAYMENT:
By email, we will notify you how to contact us to pay for late entry. Since you were not selected in the original selections, your credit cards were never charged. Late Entries, via alternates, must be paid by calling the pro shop at 225-612-2420 and processing the payment (credit cards only) before we can place you in the draw. The alternate will not be listed as a competitor until the payment has been received. The entry fee is $60 for singles.
POINT OF NO RETURN:
It is your duty to notify us once you have been placed on the alternate list that there is no way you can participate in the tournament should a spot open up for you to play. If your name is on the alternate list, you are saying that you can play. We understand that you may not be able to drop everything and change your plans last minute, so please be courteous and email us at jwahlborg@ymcabatonrouge.org to remove you from the alternate list, even if it is the night before and you live way too far away to make the trip last minute.
ON-SITE ALTERNATES:
You need to report on site for your division 30 minutes prior to the start of the first match for that division and be present during all the first round match times of that division. If there are more that one on-site alternate, we will go by the order of the Ordered Alternate List to make the selection. You must notify the desk that you are there in order for us to know to put you in the draw. If you are not present if a spot opens up, you will not play. So it is important to remain on-site until all the first round matches have started if you want any chance at playing.

Doubles
NEW THIS YEAR: We have a separate registration page for doubles. The doubles registration will open up AFTER the deadline of the singles registration and we post who has been selected. This is to ease the confusion of signing up for doubles if you do not make the tournament. If you do, however, wish to still play doubles after you are not selected into the singles, you can still sign up. Tennislink will not charge for doubles registration, but we have a separate fee for doubles only. See doubles website for full details.
We do not partner players. You must sign up with a partner in order to play doubles. Your partner must also sign up and indicate you as your partner.
Doubles will only be played on Saturday and Sunday due to the new tournament format for SL3 tournaments in LA.
