Wildfires
Wildfires continue to burn in some areas around Austin, however none of our playing sites have been adversely effected. Our tournament will go on as scheduled. I suggest players coming in from the Houston area take Hwy 290 into Austin instead of going through Bastrop on Hwy 71. You can turn off of 290 onto 130 South (toll road) to avoid traffic in Austin. The toll road will take you to 71 just east of the airport. Players coming in from the West should also confirm that Hwy 71 in Spicewood is open. There are no road closures in Austin that I am aware of. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by this tragedy including several folks in the tennis family.

Trainer
An athletic trainer will be avaialble throughout the weekend. She will be based at ATA. If you need her services, please stop by ATA. In the case of an emergency, please check with your site director to see if the trainer can be called to your site.

Draw Splits
Players have been split between A and B draw. There will additional splits within the B draw of B14's singles and doubles this week. Any questions about why a player is in the "A" draw or "B" draw should be directed to section office (Paige Schumacher or Melissa Chambers).

Practice Courts
All tournament sites will be open for warm up at 7:00 am. There will be no warm up courts after 8:00 am at any of the tournament facilities. If you are looking for a place to warm up later in the day, I would suggest any of the following sites depending on your playing location and location of your hotel. Click on the following link for a map of Austin area facilities and contact info: Caswell Tennis Center (call for reservation), Pharr Tennis Center (call for reservation), South Austin Tennis Center (call for reservation), Hill Country Middle School (no reservation needed), Westridge Middle School (no reservations), Cedar Park HS (no reservations), Austin HS (call for reservation)

WELCOME TO THE AUSTIN TENNIS ACADEMY
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Austin Tennis Academy’s Spenco Super Champ Major Zone! The Austin Tennis Academy is a training program for junior tennis players who aspire to achieve excellence through tennis–it is a group of coaches, players and parents dedicated to pursuing excellence in tennis and life. The mission of the Austin Tennis Academy is to create a local junior tennis community, dedicated to developing students to their fullest potential in tennis, academics and character. One of our primary objectives is to help students use tennis to help them make the perfect college choice. The flagship service of the Austin Tennis Academy is the Academy Program. The Academy Program is tennis training and fitness training for top level players and those that aspire to be top level players. Top level in this case means Superchamp level in the USTA Texas Section and nationally ranked players in the United States and for those with the talent and drive, success at the National and International level. Players in the Academy program look at their lives through the prism of being a tennis athlete. They train on and off the court, they travel to meet the competition, they are focused on lofty goals in tennis performance. We pride ourselves on our collaborative relationship we share with our parents and pride ourselves on that being an element that makes us unique among tennis academies. Our students are special. Not only do they pursue athletic and academic excellence, they are partners in making our program successful, they participate with younger players as mentors, and take responsibility for making the program and each other better. Call us today at 512.276.2271 or email us at info@AustinTennisAcademy.com. We'd love to tell you more about our programs, short programs, and summer camps.
