WITHDRAWLS - REFUNDS
WITHDRAWLS - REFUNDS. If you need to withdraw from the tournament after entries close, you will need to give a reason. For the purposes of a refund, the reason will have to be an excused reason: injury, illness, or personal emergency. In addition, written verification from a medical professional is required by the last day of the tournament for illness or injury, and for personal emergency, a written summary of the emergency needs to be submitted by the same date for the referee to make a determination. This process is the National requirement, otherwise no refund is required. Refunds may not be processed until after the tournament is completed. A Tournament Committee is only required to refund a player’s entry fee if: the entry is not accepted or the withdrawal is for previously authorized entry into another tournament. In all other cases (such as withdrawals for illness, injury or personal circumstances), a refund is not required. A Tournament Committee may, at its discretion, choose to refund a player’s entry fee. It is recommended that if the Tournament Committee refunds entry fees not otherwise required to be refunded, that it set criteria for these refunds and consistently refund based on the criteria. If refunds are made, the Tournament Committee shall not charge any fee (such as a processing, service, or handling fee, for refunding the entry. Tournament is required to refund a players' entry fee if: the entry is not accepted or the withdrawal is for previously authorized entry into another tournament. If anyone plans to withdraw, please let the event know as soon as possible, so alternates can make travel arrangements.
