Selection Process
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Player selection will be done on Monday prior to the tournament. The top 16 players who have a NC Standing in the age group in which they register will be selected into the Main Draw, which counts as a NC Level 4 event. The next 16 players who have a NC Standing in the age group in which they register will be selected into the Dependent Draw, which will count as a NC Level 5 event. Any remaining players will be placed on the Alternate List.
Players must have a standing on the Standing List for the division in which they registered to be selected to the Main Draw, even if you are an Alternate for the event or a player in the Dependent Level 5 Draw.
Up to Friday at noon, if a player withdraws from the Main Draw, the highest ranked player in the Dependent Draw will be moved to the Main Draw and the Top Alternate listed on the Alternate List will be placed into the Dependent Draw as long as they met the selection requirements,
Any Alternates that are added to the draw prior to Noon on Friday will NOT be notified of their acceptance. It is the player's responsibility to check each day to see if they have been added to the draw. After noon on Friday, any withdrawals in the draws will be filled by On-Site Alternates on Saturday.
After noon on Friday, any openings in either the Main Draw or the Dependent Draw will be filled by On-Site Alternates on Saturday. If you are listed on the Alternate List and wish to be an On-Site Alternate, you must email Tournament Referee at scott@scoben.com and you must be on site by the first match time listed on the draw for the division for which you are an alternate. More details will be provided on Thursday about this process.
Any players from Out-of-State will be selected as a secondary process. All North Carolina players with a standing will have priority over Out-of-State players.
Players will be selected based on the most recent published NC standing list. Players must have some standing points in order to be considered to compete in a NC L4 tournament. If players do not have a standing, they should compete in a NC L5 event. The names of players who have been selected will appear as “Competitors.”
