SCHEDULE OF PLAY AND FORMAT
1. The players will need to arrive and check in 30 minutes prior to their start time. For example all 10 & Under players need to be ready to play at 9am because we will begin play from a shotgun start. 2. We will choose from a variety of USTA approved shortened formats in order to expedite play. The exact format has not yet been determined and it could be a timed format. 3. All matches throughout the day will be played with No-Ad scoring. 4. If a timed format is used and time has been called the player in the lead at that point will be awarded the win. Even if the player is ahead by a single point they will be awarded the win. 5. Players will be allowed to rest. In between matches players will not be allowed to leave the facility. As soon as a court opens up they will be returned to court to compete. Players will be expected to play without warmup after the first round of play.

ALL PLAYERS SELECTED
We chose to select all players for the tournament who registered since this is the lowest level tournament the USTA sanctions. We believe it is important to allow everyone who desires to play a chance to enter considering the new YPP system of play is in place. In several instances the computer has automatically split the draws. Where the numbers are not as high some players have been moved into round robins for their age groups. If players withdraw from the compass draws then players from the round robins will automatically and randomly be moved over into the compass draws. The draws will not be revealed until the morning of the tournament. Please remember to report 15-30 minutes before your age group is scheduled to play. BG10's 9AM BG12's 12PM BG14's 3PM
|
LATE REGISTRATION
If we take later registrations it will only be in Boy's 10's, Girl's 10's and Girl's 14's. We will charge $10 per late entry. Sign up before noon today to avoid any late fees. If you want to enter after the deadline you will need to pay the late fee and call 770-919-8602.
|
SELECTION
In certain age groups we may not be able to accommodate everyone. If that is the case we will have to select first players who already have some sort of record. If there is no record for certain players those players will then be randomly selected in order to fill out the draws. One other other option might be for us to play an extra draw at a different time slot of the same day. We will try our best to include all players. Finally, if you are not selected there is another way for your child to be entered and that is an alternate. As an alternate they can be chosen to play if there is a last minute withdrawal. Please keep this in mind.

MARIETTA HIGH SCHOOL AND LAUREL PARK TENNIS CENTER
We will be using the (LPTC) Laurel Park Tennis Center and (MHS) Marietta High School is going to be one of the other sites we will use for this tournament.
|
SCHEDULE OF PLAY AND DRAWS
Please plan to arrive 30-15 minutes ahead of when you are scheduled to play. The schedule of play is as follows: 10 & Under Boys & Girls 9AM - 12PM 12 & Under Boys & Girls 12PM - 3PM 14 & Under Boys & Girls 3PM - 6PM The deadline is not until later in the week. We will not post the draws until the time you arrive as players.
|
DRAWS
If we have full numbers of players for draws we will split them into draws of 8 and we will be playing compass draw tournaments for the kids. Please note this when signing up. This is a non-elimination format. We will take as many kids into the tournament as we have courts to accommodate.
|
WEATHER
In all cases you should check the draws before leaving the house and see if there are any changes. But this is especially true when we are dealing with weather as a factor. We work very hard to get the courts ready so we can be playable often when other areas of the city are not capable of the same thing. Bottomline: always check the draws on TENNISLINK before leaving the house for any last minute changes or adjustments to the times and conditions.

Counting Points Up effective Jan. 1, 2017 To align with USTA National and Southern, USTA Georgia Junior Competition Committee has approved an amendment that will affect how Georgia standings will be calculated. Beginning January 1, 2017, the singles and doubles results for each player earned in a division for the previous 12-month period shall be counted as results in the next-older division at 20%. As such, players will no longer be considered for selection based on their lower age division standings. A description of this new amendment may be found on the USTA Southern website at: http://www.southern.usta.com/Juniors/tournaments_rankings/2017_important_junior_updates/?intloc=headernavsub2
