Vouchers for High School Players Competing in First USTA Tournament
The North Carolina Tennis Association is again providing tournament vouchers for current High School and Jr. Team Tennis players in North Carolina. The NCTA Junior Competition Committee and Board of Directors want to provide an incentive for those players in North Carolina to get involved in USTA tournament competition.
The NCTA will pay the entry fee for the first tournament a player enters to introduce them to the fun and camaraderie of tournament tennis. To be eligible, a player must not have played in any sanctioned tournament in the past. Players may use these vouchers in any sanctioned junior FUTURES (L5), L4 (NEW this year) or Adult NTRP (provided they allow junior entries) tournament held in North Carolina this year. Futures tournaments are for less experienced competitive players and will provide good competition for new tournament players. Level 4 tournaments offer more experienced competitive play. NTRP Tournaments provide play against adult players of the same level. Vouchers are good for singles OR doubles. Click on the link for more complete information

Three-Minute Set Break in Split Set Matches
A three-minute Set Break will be taken after splitting sets. During this break the players may receive coaching on court. Players are not permitted to leave the court except for a legitimate toilet/change of attire break. A player taking a toilet/change of attire break, for which "reasonable time" is allowed (see court official), may receive coaching during that break. A player remaining on court while the opponent takes a toilet/change of attire break may receive coaching until their opponent returns. Cell phones may be used by players on court to receive coaching during the break. A player taking a toilet/change of attire break may also use a cell phone to receive coaching. Cell phones must be turned off at the end of the 3-minute set break.

Coaching in Split Set Matches
All coaching during split set matches must be done at the fence. We do not allow players to come off the court for coaching at the Greene Central High School Tennis Complex.

Selection Process for Limited Draws in This Tournament
We will follow NCTA rules in selecting the eight players who make each draw. This decision will be solely based on current standings. All players who did not make the draw are considered alternates. If we have a withdrawal, we will call players on the alternate list. This is the only singles tournament that we have in Snow Hill where the draws are limited to eight. Players should consider this when entering draws outside of their age range. Players that are not selected for the draw will not have their credit cards charged.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
