Draws & Player Check-In
The draws have been posted. Please note that if any changes are made to the draws before Friday at 8am, PLAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHECKING TO SEE IF ANY CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO THEIR MATCH TIMES OR LOCATIONS. If any changes made after Friday at 8am, the tournament director or referee will notify the player via phone and email of any changes. Players must check-in at their site location a MINIMUM of 30 MINUTES prior to their match time. Players DO NOT have to check-in at a central facility. Players must bring the NC Medical Waiver already filled out to their match site and turn it in prior to being able to play their first match. Any players who are not ready to go on court when their match is called are subject to the Point Penalty System for delays.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
USTA requires a medical release signed by the parent or guardian for every player prior to their first match. Please download, complete, and bring signed form to expedite player check-in. No player will be allowed on court without this form. Click on 'more info' to access a copy of this form.

Tournament Deadline Thursday February 26th
The deadline for all North Carolina Level 3 tournaments is the Thursday, the week before the tournament. This deadline is, Thursday February 26th at 11:59pm. Please sign up ahead of time. No late entries are allowed in North Carolina Level 3 tournaments.

12U Division
New for 2015 (effective March 1), players will not be allowed to compete in a North Carolina Level 3 tournament in the 12U division unless they have accumulated at least 300 ranking points in North Carolina at the time selections are made. The North Carolina Junior Tournament Committee put this rule in place to be sure that players are developing properly in the correct pathway (from 10U Orange). All North Carolina state L4s and L5s use green ball in the 12s, so the player has to earn their way into a North Carolina L3 in 12U yellow ball.

WITHDRAWALS
Withdrawals prior to the entry deadline is the player's responsibility using TennisLink online. Anyone who withdraws after the registration deadline should email tournaments@charlottetennisassociation.com stating name, division, USTA number, and reason for withdrawal.

LATE ENTRIES
In accordance with USTA NC requirements, all players must register online prior to the deadline and late entries will not be accepted.

WADDELL ACADEMY (WLA)

SELECTION PROCESS
The top 32 players will be selected from the most current NC Standings list in each age division. Up until Wednesday march 4, alternates will fill in for any withdrawn player.

WATERFALL SYSTEM FOR SPLITTING DRAWS
The players will be ordered using current standings. The 32 players will be split as follows: Red: 1,4,5, 8,9,12,13,16,17,20,21,24,25,28,29,32 White: 2,3, 6,7,10,11,14,15,18,19,22,23,26,27,30,31 Seeding will be made after the player have been split.

DRAW
Draws will be posted by end of day on Wednesday, March 4. Draws are subject to change and it is the player's responsibility to check their next match times immediately following their match.

CONSOLATION
Consolation finals will not be played out. Players will receive the same number of ranking points as for advancing to the finals.

PLAYING FORMAT & SCORING
32 players will be selected for each event (see Selection Process headline) and then be split into two Draws of 16 players using the Waterfall System for selection (see Waterfall Headline), with a Full Feed In Consolation through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. The Feed-In Consolation will play through the Semifinals. The best two out of three sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a third set will be played for all Boys and Girls 12s - 18s.

BOYS & GIRLS 10s FORMAT AND SCORING
For Boys and Girls 10s, the required scoring format for singles shall be the best of three short sets (first to four games and win by two), with a set tiebreak (first to seven points and win by two) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to seven points and win by two) for the third set. Play will be on a 60' court with orange low compression balls. Players must use 25" or smaller junior racquets.

AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the winner and finalist of each event.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS
In order to truly enjoy the sport of tennis, it is essential to display good sportsmanship which includes abiding by the rules, playing fair, and showing respect for your opponent. With an award sponsored by the Queen City Tennis Shop, the CTA will recognize a boy/girl from this tournament who exemplifies the qualities of a true sportsman and competitor.

TRAINER
There will be a trainer available at the main site beginning Saturday morning through the completion of matches on Sunday.

STRINGER
A stringer from Queen City Tennis Shop will be available at the main site on Saturday. Fee information will be available at the tournament desk.

OFFICIAL TENNIS BALL
The CTA will use Wilson tennis balls for this tournament. Please note that 10s will be playing with the orange low compression ball.

PRACTICE COURTS
Courts are available for practice/warm-up on a first come basis at Carmel Road Park and Freedom Park. Directions to both locations will be provided at player check-in. There will not be any courts available at the tournament sites during match play.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, February 26, 2015 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
