MORE SUMMER PLAY OPPORTUNITIES!
If you are looking for some additional play opportunites this summer, check out the following activities coordinated by the Charlotte Tennis Association. The CTA Junior Challenge Ladder is a fun and flexible program for middle school and high school boys and girls from the beginner to advanced play level. Players can still register for the 10 week season which is just getting started. The CTA Play Days Circuit provides play for 8s, 10s and 12s. DRAWS AND MATCH TIMES ARE POSTED!
All players should check the times for their first round matches. Please plan to check-in 30 minutes before the scheduled time.All matches are schedule for Park Road Park (PRP). The 8&U event will be held at PRP on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and players should check in by 8:30 AM. Please remember to bring your completed Medical Release form (printable from this website below) for check-in. If you were provided an entry voucher, please bring that to check-in as well. PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON COURT UNLESS WE HAVE A SIGNED MEDICAL RELEASE.

STAY HYDRATED!
Players, be sure to drink plenty of water before and during the tournament. Please be sure to bring your water bottles/jugs. We will have water on site if you run out or forget.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM
The Medical Release Form is required by USTA and must be signed by a parent or guardian. Please be sure to provide a telephone number where you can be reachded during the tournament. A signed form is extremely important in the event your child requires emergency medical assistance and you are not at the court site. Please download and bring with you to check-in otherwise the form must be completed at check-in. No player will be allowed on court without this form. WITHDRAWALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so online. Click on “Edit Registration,” then “Withdraw.” There are no refunds after the tournament entry deadline has passed. You will need your original confirmation number or credit card number that was used to register. After the online deadline has passed, all withdrawals must be communicated by e-mail to Tournaments@CharlotteTennisAssociation.com. Once the tournament has started, withdrawals must be emailed AND called into the tournament officials.

DRAWS & MATCH TIMES
Draws are limited to 32 participants. Selection will be posted on Tuesday, June 16 and draws will be posted online by Wednesday evening, June 17. Please make sure to check your match time and location. Click on Draws and select the appropriate age division from the drop down box. Please make sure you identify which location you are playing - Park Road Park (PRP) or Waddell School (WS). (PER THE NOTE AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE, ALL MATCHES HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED AT PARK ROAD PARK.) Prior to and throughout the course of the tournament, it is the player's responsibility to verify that their match times/locations are accurate. Schedule changes may be unavoidable due to weather and/or withdrawals.

TOURNAMENT START TIMES
Play will begin at 5:00PM on Friday evening. Players should check-in at their match site not less than 30 minutes prior to their first round match. Draws and match times will be posted by Wednesday evening.

TOURNAMENT HEADQUARTERS
The Tournament Headquarters location is Park Road Park (PRP)--6220 Park Road, Charlotte, 28210. From I-77 exit onto Tyvola road (Exit #5). If travelling south, turn left onto Tyvola Road if travelling north, turn right onto Tyvola. Follow Tyvola to Park Road. Turn right onto Park Road. Tennis courts are on the left just before the next intersection. Click on "more info" to link to Mapquest. (The auxiliary site, Waddell School (WS) is located at 7030 Nationsl Ford Road.)

FORMAT & SCORING
Format will be a Feed In Consolation, where players who lose in the main draw are fed into the consolation. Players are fed in through the quarterfinals and after the semi-finals there will be a playoff for third and fourth place. The scoring for the Main Draw and Consolation will be best of three sets with a Match Tiebreak in lieu of a third set. In the event of inclement weather, an alternate scoring method may be used.

BOYS & GIRLS 8s & UNDER FORMAT/SCORING
Boys and Girls 8&U will use the 10 and Under Tennis format with court size of 36 feet and red low compression balls. Players must use 19", 21" or 23" junior racquets. Kids play best 2 out of 3 games with each game being first to 7 points. Players must serve overhand or underhand into the service box, but may drop hit on the second serve. It is a Co-Ed format and volunteers will be on court to assist with scoring.
The event will be held at Park Road Park on Saturday, June 20 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, including a brief parent and player meeting before play begins. Players should check-in by 8:30 AM.

BOYS & GIRLS 10s FORMAT/SCORING
For Boys and Girls 10s, the required scoring format for singles shall be the best of three short sets (first to four and win by two), with a set tiebreak (first to (7) and win by two) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to (7) and win by two) for the third. Play will be on a 60' court with orange low compression balls. Players must use a 25" or small junior racquets.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD
In order to truly enjoy the sport of tennis, it is essential to display good sportsmanship which includes abiding by the rules, playing fair, and showing respect for your opponent. Each year the CTA recognizes a boy/girl from this tournament who exemplifies the qualities of a true sportsman and competitor. Sportsmanship Awards are sponsored by Queen City Tennis Shop.

AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the Winner and Finalist of the Main Draw, and the Winner of the Consolation round.

OFFICIAL TENNIS BALL
The CTA will use Wilson tennis balls for this tournament. Please note that 12s will be playing with the green low compression ball, 10s with the orange low compression ball and 8s with the red low compression ball.
