Player Amenities
As our guest, you will have access to our workout facility for the duration of the tournament. Limited hard courts will be available for warm-up on a first come, first serve basis. Each
player will also receive a tournament towel and dinner on Friday evening starting at 6:00. Fruit and beer will also be complimentary to players throughout the tournament.

Format and Scoring
The
format for all main draw singles matches is best of 3 regular sets, with a feed-in consolation through the quarters. The format for all consolation singles is best of 3 sets with a 10-point Coman tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set.

Court Surface
All matches will be played on outdoor clay courts. In the case of inclement weather matches will move to indoor hard courts.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled match. Once checking in at the tournament desk, please stay within earshot. Thank you!

Players Responsibility
It
is the PLAYER'S responsibility to know their next match time and show
up in a timely manner. Check website often for updated match
times. PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO
ITS SCHEDULED START TIME. ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR
LATENESS.

State Closed Championship eligibility
By
registering online for this tournament, I certify that I am in compliance with the following statement.
“I hereby certify
that I am domiciled in, and a resident of, the State of North Carolina and will
have been so for 30 days preceding the start of this tournament; and that
during the current ranking year, I have not entered, nor do I intend to enter,
any closed tournament in any other USTA District (State) or in any other USTA
Section, other than the Southern Section; and that this certification is made
to determine eligibility for this tournament and is made under penalty of
disqualification by the Tournament Committee from entry, suspension, denial of
any ranking or any other appropriate action by the North Carolina Tennis
Association.”
In addition, the
entrants for all State
Closed tournaments in North Carolina
must meet the following criteria:
1.
Must
be a US
Citizen or meet the resident alien requirements
2.
Hold
only one USTA membership card, residency for which must be NC
3.
Players
may not play in State Closed tournaments of other states (districts) or
Sections of the USTA if they play in a NC State Closed.
4.
College
students who live in another state or country must meet requirements #2 and #3.

Unfortunately, we were unable to secure a block of rooms for tournament players in October. We are providing a list of hotels on the south side of Asheville which are convenient to the tournament site.

Selection of Players
Nothing
to lose so register to play. If a division in this tournament does
not have sufficient entries, your credit card will not be
charged
the entry fee or the tennislink service/processing fee.

Event Registration
Players are eligible to enter 3 events: singles, gender doubles, and mixed doubles.
|
Seeding
We will be using the most current Southern standing list to determine the seeds. We will seed on a 1:3 ratio and the number of players shall equal a power of two (For example, 1,2,4,8,16 or 32) Some divisions may not have seeds because they are round robins or because there was not enough information to determine a seed.

Draws
Draws will be posted at least 48 hours prior to the start of the tournament.

Awards
Winners and finalists will receive a trophy. Consolation Winners will receive a can of balls.
|
Thursday and Friday Play
Matches may begin as early as Thursday morning. If you have a schedule conflict any day please make the tournament director aware before registration closes.

Selection Process
All players will be selected. Your credit card will not be charged until selection. Selections will be posted no later
than the Tuesday after the deadline . The names of players who have been
selected will appear as “Competitors.”
If
you are not selected, you will be on the alternate list. Please
contact the TD if you wish to be removed from the alternate list.

Withdrawals
If
you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so
online. Click on "Edit Registration," then "Withdraw."
You will need your original confirmation number. All withdrawals
after entries close must be sent BOTH in writing by email (to the
Tournament Director's address above) and by phone to the
tournament site. Players withdrawing after the tournament
deadline/selection will not be refunded the entry fee.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, October 12, 2014 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
