GA/AL JUNIOR OPEN hosted by GA and AL

Junior Open State Championships will be played at 2 locations simultaneously.
The BG 10-14’s will be hosted in Bainbridge, GA and the BG16-18’s will be
hosted in Dothan Alabama.
This is a STA Level 4 event and is a Level 2 State Championship event for all
age divisions for both Alabama and Georgia thru a cooperative agreement with
both States Junior Competition Committees. GA players playing in the Alabama
hosted event will receive State Championship credit as well as Alabama players
playing in the Georgia event.

ENTERING TWO TOURNAMENTS
This includes
those on the Alternate List.
Do not enter two tournaments at the same time.
How to avoid Penalties: If you end up on the alternate list, you must withdraw
from the alternate list first and then enter the 2nd event.

WITHDRAWALS AND REFUNDS
All
withdrawals after the entry deadline should be in writing and the reason for
the withdrawal given sent to the referee at chelton48@yahoo.com .
On or BEFORE Sunday, March 20, 11:59pm, please withdraw on the website.
Go to the Tournament website and find "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the
right side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw.
If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate
Comfirmation" just below "Withdraw". Your credit card will not be
charged and no reason for the withdrawal is necessary.
AFTER Sunday, March 20 at 11:59pm, withdrawing players should email the
referee at chelton48@yahoo.com stating the reason for the withdrawal.
NO refund will be given if a player withdraws after 11:59pm, Sunday, March
20.

TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN
Please complete the medical release form (click MORE INFO) and bring with you to the tournament.
For BG10 BG12 and BG14: Check -in for the tournament is Friday at Bill Reynolds Tennis Center from
3:00pm-8:00pm. If you are not able to check-in Friday at Bill Reynolds Tennis Center, please contact the tournament director.

TIME LINE
Sunday, March 19, 11:59pm - Online Entries and withdrawals with refund close. No
refunds for withdrawals after this date and time.
Monday, March 20 - Selections for on time entries by tournament director by 5
pm
Tuesday, March 21, midnight - Doubles partners must be designated by midnight.
Wednesday, March 22 – draws will be made at 10 am. First match times will be
posted by 9 pm.
Friday, March 24 – Draws will be posted by 3 pm.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Based on 32 draw size in Singles and 16 draw
size for Doubles:
Saturday – 1st round Doubles followed by 2 rounds Main draw singles and 1st
round Consolation followed by a second round of doubles Sunday – SF round Doubles, 3 rounds of consolation singles, 2 rounds Main draw
singles, F round Doubles Monday – 2 rounds of consolation singles, F and 3/4 playoff
Main draw singles Tuesday – Rain day
Please note that the Consolation will be played through the semi-finals. There is not a 3/4 playoff for doubles.

SCORING REGULATIONS / FORMAT OF PLAY
For BG 14:
All main draw SINGLES matches will be best of
three tiebreak sets. New balls will be provided for the third set. For BG12: All
main draw SINGLES matches will be best of 2 tiebreak sets. A match
tiebreak will be played for the 3rd set. No new balls for the tiebreak. BG12 and BG14: All Consolation matches will be 2
Tiebreak sets. A match tie-break will be played at 1 set all (10 points by 2).
For BG10:
Format for main and consolation will be Short sets, no ad scoring. A set tiebreak(7pt) will be played at 1 set all. Level 1 will play on 78ft courts with green ball and full size racket. Level 2 will play on 60 foot courts, using orange balls and rackets 25 inches or less.
The consolation will be a full
feed-in through the quarterfinals. Consolation will end at the semis.
There will be a playoff for third
and fourth places in the main draw singles.
For BG12, 14: DOUBLES matches will be one 8 game Pro Set. A match
tiebreaker (10 points by 2) will be played at 8-all.
For BG10: DOUBLES matches will be one 6-game no-ad set with a seven
(7) point tie-break played at 6-all. Same balls as above for Level 1 and Level 2.

SEEDING INFORMATION
Seeds
will be determined by the most recent Southern Standing List ( ) For out
of section players, consideration will be given for National and Section
Standing.

LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED
Late entries wiil be accepted at the discretion of the tournament director. Seeding will be done immediately after selections. If a late applicant would affect the seeding they will not be accepted.

SELECTION CRITERIA
.
Entry will be based on selection criteria of the top 32 players
applying from the latest USTA/Southern standing list.

DOUBLES REGISTRATION
We will be playing doubles on the
first day of the tournament.
You must play doubles in the same
age group in which you were accepted for singles.
Please sign up with your partner before the entry deadline.
Once the deadline has passed, email
the referee by Tuesday evening, March 21 at midnight with the name of your
doubles partner and their USTA number.
If you are playing doubles ONLY,
then the fee is $25.00, which is payable at tournament
registration.
Parents/ Players can join the Facebook Group to find a partner.

GEORGIA LEVEL 2 TOURNAMENT. STA LEVEL 4 TOURNAMENT. CONSOLATION
- FIC Singles & 3/4 Playoffs. Boys/Girls 10s MUST play all
matches on a 60' court with a 25 " racket and use low compression
balls. JR. SUSPENSION POINT SYSTEM IN EFFECT. SIGN UP FOR DOUBLES
ONLINE - Doubles play will start the first day of the tournament.
T-shirts. Scoring format for BG18-12: Singles: Main draw - Regular
scoring (2 out of 3 sets) and Consolation - 2 out of 3 sets with
3rd set match tie-break. Doubles: 8-game pro-sets with a match
tie-break at 8-all. BG10s main draw and consolation - 2 of 3 short
sets (sets to 4) with a 7-point tie-break for the third. Doubles
scoring format for BG10s will be 6-game no-ad set with a seven (7)
point "Match" tie-break played at 6-all. STATE CHAMPIONSHIP - This
is a State Championship tournament.
Refund Policy : Once the deadline expires there will be NO refunds.
In case of inclement weather there will be NO refunds when each
competitor has played at least one match. If not, a credit for one
of our future tournaments will be given.

LATE ENTRANTS - USTA Georgia will allow late entrants to be accepted into all USTA GA tournaments, Levels 1-5, in the event that the draw is not full, provided that such late entrants do not affect the seeding and further provided that late entrants do not prevent timely entrants to be accepted into the draw under any circumstances. Accepting late entrants is at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. Seeds must be posted by 12 noon following close of registration. Once draws are posted, the tournament is closed and can no longer accept late entries.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, March 19, 2017 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
