Notes
PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE CLUB. EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS:
MIKE@SPEARMANCLUBS.COM.
Please do not jump onto an open hard court to warm up. We are a
private club and members have courts booked--if they see someone on
their court they will not bump you off--they will find me and
complain.
Due to smaller than anticipated draw sizes we were able to have the
round robin completed by Thursday. The semi-final and final playoff
will take place on Friday. You are able to sign up for other
tournaments starting on 6/30.
DRAWS FOR SEMI-FINAL/FINAL PLAYOFFS ARE UPDATED (10:50AM). THE
TIMES ARE THE SAME BUT THE TOP TWO PLAYERS IN EACH PLAYOFF (BASED
ON UTR) HAVE BEEN SEEDED. THIS IS PER THE SCTA. SORRY FOR THE
CONFUSION--ALL MATCHES REMAIN AT THE SAME TIME--OPPONENTS MIGHTS
HAVE CHANGES.
**THERE IS A 3RD/4TH PLAYOFF (EXCEPT FOR G12/G14/G18) ** IF YOU
LOSE IN THE SEMI-FINALS YOU HAVE ANOTHER MATCH.
Depending on the number of participants matches will start
between:
Monday: 10:30-7pm;
Tuesday: 12:30pm-7pm;
Wednesday: 9am-7;
Thursday: 12:30pm-7;
Friday: 12:30pm-6:30pm
The tournament entry is based on SCTA ranking and is "tournament
director selection" based. The top 16 players in each division
(based on SCTA ranking) will be selected (and charged).
Each player receives 70 points per win in the RR. If
you win the RR you will receive an additional 140 points for
finishing 3rd; 160 points for finishing 2nd; and an extra 200
points for winning (410 points for winning the tournament if you
won all three of your RR matches and the playoff draw). This points
breakdown assumes full 16 person draws.
The top 16 players (based on SCTA ranking) in each division will
then be placed in a "waterfall" round robin (based on UTR rating).
Each RR will consist of 4 players (each player will have three
matches) and the winners of each RR will play off in a semi-final
and final on Saturday.
Win OR Lose on Friday you will have a second match--either to
play off for 1st/2nd or 3rd/4th.
There will NOT be hard courts to warm up on. Bill Barber Park is
close by.
RR winners will be those who won the most matches. In the event
of a tie it will go to:
1) Head to head win-loss record in matches involving just the
tied players; then
2) The player with the highest percentage of sets won of all
sets completed;
3) The player with the highest percentage of games won of all
games completed.
Format: Two regular sets and a 10 point match
tie-breaker.
Please sweep and line the courts after your match.
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, June 20, 2018 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
